oh wow! i wish i watched this video before i brought my breville to the dump. ☹️ maybe the thermostat just needed a wipe down! I had it a long time though and was worried it could be a fire hazard if it were to malfunction.

I have to agree w- previous commenters that the "close-up of the groove" was the key take-away that made this video so helpful. Once I got that groove aligned, and the inside-the-door lever locked & loaded, this was "easy". <-(Lots of trial & error leading up to it, though!!) The other KZbin installation videos I'd seen, had glossed over this detail - which is no small detail. I believe it's the key to this whole DIY effort actually working. So "Help Me Out!": This really helped me out. Thank you so much!

E01 error is likely to mean either a failed thermal fuse at the back of the oven (once the back cover taken off) or a failed thermistor (thermal resister used to measure temperature). just in case this helps anyone, the sage / breville smart oven uses SF214E SEFUSE 10A 250V 216 Celcius fuse, you can check the fuse for continuity with most electronic meters. in case no signal is coming through - it’s the culprit. alternatively, if the fuse shows signal continuity, then it could be thermal resistor (thermistor) that is screwed to the wall of the oven and needs to unscrewed from the inside. if that’s the element to fix and you manage to unscrew it - first clean it and then test it for resistance. It’s a 100k glass Thermal Resistor NTC MF58 if measured at 25C temperature (costs peanuts). So, it can read lower or higher depending on the temperature of the space you’re in, normally 70k to 120k, unless the temp difference is more significant.Sometimes, just cleaning it helps as dirt can short the signal and, thus, trigger the discussed error. Bear in mind that if you decide to change the thermal resistor due to it being shorted after all, then soldering it won’t work - you’d need to crimp it. It operates at under 230C, where solder isn’t likely to last long. Sage / Breville make their devices a nightmare to disassemble and fix. They're very simple in principle, but well - it's just business (i.e., scam).

You should tell people that if that washer comes off there are two little notches that need to be lined up or when you tighten the wheel back on the washer shatters like mine did. I notched a metal washer and fixed it. Thanks for the video though it helped a lot

For anyone that can’t find the tool and is reading comments you can use a trim puller too. I’ve used a “zenith trim puller mini” works great for trim, paneling and this.

To fix the intermittent start button problem mentioned at end of video, I disassembled all the way to the PCB and replaced the microswitch behind the outer button. It took a steady soldering hand to do that, so find an electronics nerd friend to help out. The switch has four legs and is universally used on count less appliances of all brands. It’s so cheap that a minimum order is a dozen or more for $5 or so off Amazon.

Super helpful. Thought I had a problem w replacement ice maker. Turns out it was just a poor connection between maker and wiring harness. This trick allowed me to quickly confirm the poor power connection was corrected and stable through a couple cycles. Saved me hours of waiting Thank you!

Hi, great instructions and tips. I installed a new ice maker and did the test to have it go through a cycle. All seemed to be ok, except the arm did not raise and/or drop by itself, as shown. What can I check to see what the possible problem is? Thanks

Didn’t fix my issue in particular but I just wanted to note that you cut your grass way too short and you should be edging vertically, not horizontally. I’ve never seen anyone do a yard this way, it’s blowing my mind how bad it looks compared to a dense mowed lawn with 4” blades that are tight straight up and down a half inch off the sidewalk. Nothing beats that clean carved edge of grass down a sidewalk and driveway! Now if I could only figure out why mine is spooling like there is no tomorrow.

Same problem, I Have an older model Bosch #SHE3ARSXUC. I changed the inlet valve with a OEM part "40$". I found by vacuuming the drain area below filter basket and drain hose it started working all the lines have been disconnected and cleaned out. ( Still defaults to clean) ..I am going to change the float switch next and see what happens. Perhaps this is the issue? Perhaps there is a weak signal telling the inlet valve to open and start the filling process? a faulty float switch? .. I'm baffled why it works after the drain line is completely cleared but unfortunately I can't figure out what the root cause is. I can fix most things and I will not give up. My Wife is starting to look at new dishwashers at 1000,$ so therefore I'm under a lot of pressure to get this problem solved🤣🤑

Hi! I too have a Breville toaster oven and when I opened it to see if I could repair it, I found a large piece of what appears to be asbestos. Its located near the wiring in the control portion. In your video and others I have watched, the asbestos is not there. Our unit, according to Breville, was manufactured in 2012. What do you suggest the average homeowner do? I have contacted Breville and their customer service person knew nothing about it but told me she would ask around and call me back. I'm still waiting. Thanks.

Just wanted to say a heart felt thank you! My courtesy lights have not worked for 2 years. After watching your video I went to a local automotive electronic supply and purchased the diode you recommended. I followed your install instructions and now have courtesy lights every time I open the doors. Aside from having lights that now work I saved a bunch of money in the process. Thanks again!
