I remember in 76-77 we got thrashed by Ipswich 7-0 at Portmans Road (Paul Mariner scored 4 goals?). In the March that season we bought Laurie from Orient, and in the same month we beat Ipswich 4-2 in the return fixture at the Hawthorns, when they were in the running for the title. Cunningham scored that night, and you felt that the good times were coming back. And we hadn't even signed Cyrille then!

I remember being at Pontins holiday park 14 years old at Christmas in 2004. In the bar watching a West Brom game with my dad and brothers. Remember they were losing by 4+. And we were speaking to a West Brom fan. Really nice guy and my dad went fancy your chances staying up. The guy replied something which indicated he had already accepted they were going down lol. Pompey were doing well for us mid table so our slight worries didn’t come till a bit later in the season. My dad said last game of the season we might do a job for you if Southampton still in the relegation zone. The guy said that would be great if the match was played in February. But would be pointless doing it when they are already down 😂. Also my whole family wanted West Brom to stay up out the four. As they had a similar spirit to Pompey that season.

If you ignore how (intentionally) stupid the lyrics are, it's actually a pretty decent recreation of that sort of 80s hair metal with an unironically good vocalist. If you had better lyrics I could see a song like this actually being sold and played in concerts.
