ETF battle request: I am usually an aggressive investor but my mom asked me to take over the management of what my Dad left for her and she is conservative so I could really use your help. I'm thinking the stability of CLOs, treasuries, senior loans, etc are a good idea for a portion but how to chose? Can we get a three way battle between FLTR, VRIG, and JAAA please?

Funny that Dave Kreinces is back touting bitcoin and 2x/3x products... Also how can Dave say that QQQ gets the win on performance over VGT when QQQ is not close in performance to VGT. Tony gets the win as the only judge here that made sense and keeping it real.
@etfguide6 күн бұрын
VGT has outperformed QQQ during the past 5 and 10-year periods, so you are correct. However, VGT has underperformed vs. the 2x/3x tech and QQQ along with Bitcoin linked trusts. It's OK to disagree with judges and I think disagreement can lead to better investment decision making, which hopefully leads to better results for you and the rest of our viewing audience. Best, Ron

This was two rest different point of views. I’m curious would XLG be beneficial to hold with VOO for that extra price appreciation?
@etfguide6 күн бұрын
Over the past 10 years, XLG gained +283% vs. VOO which gained +229%, without dividends. The future will likely be different, but holding XLG did product some alpha over the regular S&P 500. Take care, Ron

This was the first time we had Tony and David paired as judges. The variance of opinions and analysis was great and so were the wild cards. Heading into this contest, I knew we'd get wild cards...and Tony's XLG was a pleasant surprise. The next upcoming ETF battle is gonna AWESOME, so don't miss it. I've got Shana and Tony paired as judges. Take care, Ron

Can you please do a two etf only portfolios comparison: SCHD/QQQ 50/50, vs. QQQ/SPY 50/50 vs BND/VTI ( or BND/SPY 50/50)? Thanks a lot!

This isn't something we'd do on ETF Battles...but it's something I could do in a one-off episode or even on my other show, Portfolio Makeover. My preference though, is to analyze and grade actual real life portfolios vs. theoretical mixes. If you're interested in that, please hit me up: www.etfguide.com/contact-us/

The two panelists are both great. I am personally interested in tech etf and etf portfolios and have read the book written by David and I highly recommend it for anyone interested in investing Tech etfs and etf portfolios.

I have about a $50 cost basis in most of my MGK. That is my taxable account. I expect those shares will be inherited. I'm reworking my Roth a bit and thought I would buy some MGC. In a future ETF Battles, I would like to see the favorite ETFs of the judges battles.

$50? That's a 6x return Dave and a testament to the power of compounding. Nice work. My philosophy when it comes to winning investments is the same as Peter Lynch's: Hold your winners and let them ride! Regarding your suggestion on the favorite ETFs of judges, I'd like to scrape your brain a little more about this. There's a few different ways we could possibly do it. Please contact me and I'll reach out to you: www.etfguide.com/contact-us/

Dave K. is notorious for having wild cards, which are allowed. My only rule is to make strong arguments for why a judge is picking that wild card and Dave always backs it up with his research and performance. Thanks for tuning in! Ron

@etfguide6 күн бұрын
Almost 52% of MGK's holdings are also held inside QQQM. You can do whatever you want, but when fund overlap is that high, its overdiversification because your funds own too much of the same stuff. Thanks for watching! Ron

Looks like synthetic single stock income funds are here to stay. People may need a little bit more education in order to better tolerate the income benefits with the rollercoaster ride 🎢 !!! I wonder if, gradually, more income seekers will sell out of QYLD and JEPI for these higher income ETFs.
