Hi Martin, thank you for the video! I have a new Macbook Air M3 and an Apple Cinema HD Display, Model A1082, display of 1920x1200. What cable would best suit this connection according to the cables you recommend, the first option (brand: Tripp-Lite) or the second one (Club 3D)? The first one seems to suit a screen up to 1920x1080, this is probably too tight for my screen? Thank you for your advice!

I am trying to do this with a Fifine, which I know you can, but my audio keeps popping, or breaking up. I know it isn't the mic because it doesn't behave that way when connected to my computer. My adapter is supposed to be Apple certified, but I wonder if there is something wrong with the adapter?

I won't buy it because I'm not spending extra money to fix an obvious and awful visual flaw. The front baseplate corners are visible and that should have never been considered okay.

Hi. I don't see how the hard drive should have anything to do with it. I'm not really expecting this to be a permanent fix. However, a new gfx card should give it way more life than re-frying the old one. Maybe some other soldering, cable or anything else surrounding the gfx card is not put properly back into place or maybe the thermal pads aren't good enough?

Crashes? … I've been using my vintage 23" Cinema display (with clear plastic feet) with my MacBook Pro for years. However, I recently discovered the Cinema was likely the cause of many, many random crashes of the whole MacBook Pro. These crashes started after I upgraded to macOS High Sierra. I purposely just got an Mac M2 (instead of anything more recent) Studio Ultra so I could use just the Club 3D Dual Link DVI-D (HDCP OFF) to USB C adapter on a 30" Cinema Display. It still doesn't work. The light on the monitor comes on and there's a very subtle difference in screen blackness when it's on, but essentially, it's not working. I even read that it's better to plug into the Studio Ultra unit last because the Mac queries the monitor to see what it's capable of, but even trying that didn't work. Went back to my old Mac tower and the monitor works fine, so I'm stumped on what to do.

Well made video. Good explanation. Before opening, and after taking out the power cable, hold the powerbutton for 10 seconds to drain the capacitors. Still be careful with the ( exposed ) power supply. Switch the HDD for an SSD, upgrade processor and RAM as much as possible for your model. The graphics cards became expensive the last few years. Some models will prevent you seeing the bootscreen, so be sure to patch it ( OCLP ) before you change that. Well done Martin. You earned 1 like and subscribe mate!
