since the video actually looked at what would happen with a conical tread & flexible axle, one should also consider cylindrical tread & flexible axle (it might make cylindrical tread work better than they would otherwise)

Would the conical wheels with free spinning axle derail if part of a two-axle, four-wheel bogey? Or would this help stabilize it?

When touching the surface with the broom in the subcritical flow, why do the waves propagate so quickly upstream? It seems like they travel extremely fast, against the flow.

It looks very cool but it looks hard to scale production up to a big scale. Also this needs a way to build a waterproof wall. In the video its obvies that it will require another cover for waterproofing. So i don't think this has a future as is. A diferent panal that is watterproof that is machine produced is what we need.

Reaction time should cancel out of the equation since applies to both the entry time and clearance time
@zentonice
@zentonice 8 ай бұрын
Reaction time in this video is propably same as the amber time that is used in some countries (looks like in this video the green turns straight to red), so this is inter green (like the video says), not inter red. There is no reaction/amber time for the entry traffic since these calculations are made to be efficient as possible and using the idea "what would be the worst case scenario if people drive the maximum speed limit from the beginning of the green phase". You have a greate video about that comparing about US and NL I saw, that was actually really good one!

A bit of a misleading video due to the shift in camera position during the test, but the reference line doesn't move so the video shows a sideways shift in the beam which in reality didn't happen.

The angle of a train wheel is; 1/20 slope. So, if a train wheel is 20 inches wide then it would have a 1-inch smaller diameter on the inside next to the flange. A 10-inch wide wheel would be 1/2 inch smaller. And a 5-inch wide wheel would be 1/4 inch smaller at the flange. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I have that right. A 1/20 slope is equal to what degree? Also, what is a real train wheel width? Thanks.

This is a terrible design. Upon the end of the lifecycle the majority of this kind of product would be destined for landfills with practically zero re-usability or recycling options. Also this is a terrible waste of man power and resources. Quick to manufacture and lengthy to install. Someone only cares about large labor costs to turn a profit. Next.
