Any advice for catching lake trout? I am a southern sask fisher and I only really ever catch big pike but its been a dream of mine to catch a monster trout like those
@rylanparrottfishingАй бұрын
I also live southern Sask. definitely not very many options close to home. My personal advice would be to bite the bullet on a guided trip if you could. This video was in Far Northern Saskatchewan but a much closer option could be Viking Lodge on manitoba Side and could even do it yourself there as well if you wanted! We have been about a 50/50 split between jigging and trolling fish but our jigs are the 6 inch glow jigs from high calibre as well as the new Frostbite tubes. I will have few videos soon of our trolling set ups with much bigger baits that also do very well.

it's not good to let the fish go, and if you don't need the fish, then give it to the cripples or beggars, it will be a good God-pleasing deed.

Hey Rylan. How catchable would the cats in this area be during the day. With an hour drive each way and a 4 year old at home the midnight fishing can be tough to swing, especially since I would likely be going alone, but early mornings or during the day I can do. Would morning or daytime even be worth trying? Never caught a cat there in open water, but lots of carp and a 13lb cat through the ice this winter.
@rylanparrottfishing3 ай бұрын
Hey! Yes daytime cats are definitely a good idea as well and can be readily caught. The only thing I would avoid is a high sun calm day typically are fairly slow throughout the day. But if you have overcast with some wind it will normally be worth the trip and you don’t have to sit out there all night!
@306Outdoors3 ай бұрын
@@rylanparrottfishing thanks for the reply! I decided to give it a try so I’m actually sitting here soaking a bait as I type this. About 2.5 hours with no action yet, but it’s super calm right now. Crazy how big the schools of suckers are that are swimming around too.
