The entire crowd tho... safe to say the majority of them are really really really Muse fans. Got goosebumps when Chris starts playing that bassline and they all get excited, singing along like there's no tomorrow.

The crowd was so loud and harmonious, I’d almost think they didn’t need Matt to sing at all, but then at the end his voice rises above the crowd, and I understood, this is still his song. As heartfelt as everyone singing is, he’s still on another level

Matt was a teenager when he wrote the first album so I guess it's just not in his taste anymore in his 40s, but it's nice they still play it once in a while for the older fans. I like Showbiz too, but their next 3 or 4 albums were definitely better imo.

Missing the context that this was a very small crowd of hardcore fans and a near 20 year old song from their least successful album. Of course they're not going to play this in arenas.

@@jamal_wallace3 I would say only a handful of people and hardcore fans would know everything they did before the showbiz album. Origin of Muse came out a couple of years ago and it has a lot of early demos and tapes of songs they used to play in live shows before showbiz, and some of them are quite good, considering they were less than 20 years old when they wrote them.

@weery332 жыл бұрын
if memory serves they actually lost a pedal that's really important to play the song correctly and they're hard to find :(
@AllenMZim2 жыл бұрын
@@weery33 They've actually recovered that pedal, which is why they've been able to play the song in 2015, 2017, and 2018. I believe the main reason they don't play it live more frequently/regularly is because one of the band members (Matt, I believe) mentioned in an interview that "the song doesn't really work live." This was featured in an interview prior to the band's tour for The 2nd Law starting in 2012 (I read it on MuseWiki.) The fact that "Muscle Museum" is also an older song that they've played literally hundreds of times before (since 1995!) probably doesn't help matters either. I'm sure the band will continue to play the song on special occasions, but I highly doubt it will ever be the setlist fixture it once was again. 😞
