A lot of owl’s during 2024! All species in Norway except the Boreal owl, so I’m pretty happy with that. Yes good luck, loved your footage of the Short-Eared Owl!

After tests - a great sensor, but it's not the ideal or even preferred camera for wildlife. 10 frames per second in burst photos is simply not enough. You can crop photos great, but if you don't freeze the motion, cropping won't do you any good. In the end, I chose Nikon Z8 and Nikkor 180-600 and everything works as it should.

It depends what your preference is, imo. Me personally prefer portraits of birds and wildlife, not flight shots. I therefore don’t need the high fps. Ofc it would be nice, but then the only option is A1 or A1 II. I lovd the possibility to crop in post, but take into consideration that this video was made before A9III and A1 II got released. Still though.. At the time of recording I got my best shots with this camera.

The stab is terrible, I would consider almost the entire video to be unusable video. The only stable video is from a tripod.

The zve1 has the best ibis on any Sony camera right now the dynamic active stab is bananas 🍌. If you add a lens with oss it’s almost gimbal like. I have the Zeiss 16-35 and the stab is so smooth.

it is a perfect camera for everything else but just not wildlife or sports. it is too slow for fast action, still or slow moving animals yes.

I disagree. No, it’s not for fast moving situations, but in terms of megapixels it helps a lot with cropping in post. You can not always get as close as you want in wildlife, so having that possibility is gold for me.

A7R5 or A7M4 , which is better for birding and wildlife photography- autofocus and lowlight performance, keeping aside megapixels. Pls guide, thanks in advance

A7RV is the better choice. It has the newest AI autofocus features, high mpx count and in general a superior camera, BUT it depends on your needs. Some of my best shots are taken with my A7IV. A7IV is a far better choice if you are doing both photo and video. Can’t go wrong with either, and you’ll save a lot of money opting for the A7IV.

@ thank you 🤝 I’m looking to rent for 3-4 days for a short trip . Hence was confused between these two . I focus more on photos & As its winter and lowlight , confused which one will have better performance. Will be using 200-600 lens

@prasanthsasikumar Both are excellent in low-light, but you will most likely notice more noise from the A7RV. It will also give you much high file-sizes, which is also something to keep in mind!

This camera is great. Only problem I have with it is that when shooting a lot of 4k 120fps, it can overheat decently fast. Not sure how fast compared to other cameras though, maybe it's no different. Oh yeah, and the zoom-lever too, as you mentioned 🙃. I wonder if there is a way to disable it, I haven't checked that out yet

Since this was a loaner I wasn’t able to install the update for 120fps, so did not get the chance to test, but I’m not surprised it overheats! Hm! Interesting! Maybe it’s possible to disable..

I never knew how much I needed mechanical shutter until I switched to the ZV-E1. I don't do sports photography, but there are times where I need to take pictures on a moving car/train, the trees in the foreground are always almost 45 degree slanted lol.

Yes exactly! I don’t have any prior experience shooting electronical shutter other when I shoot silent on my A7IV. The main reason why I can’t cope without the mechanical is that I feel I have much more control over the final image when feel the curtain go down 😂

hey man , i have just started out with photography. Something that actually scares me is losing my pictures or my files getting corrupted and I loose all the beautiful moment I captured, got any tips for how how to avoid a situation , like just happened with you , btw just loved the video too good of pictures . to be honest it so unreal to get so many good picture in one walk.
