SHOULD YOU ADJUST THE CHAIN WITH THE BIKES WEIGHT ON THE REAR TIRE, OR JACKED UP AND HANGING?

If you own a 2015 Yamaha FZ-07, I had the same problem with that bike!! The weird chain adjustment plates drove me nuts because I could never get it right, and here you are with the same symptoms as I had. Thank you for the helpful insight in the rough measurements of before and after.

Note to everybody that's not savvy with motorbikes. Never tighten your chain when it's on a paddock stand......

04 GSX R 750 owner since 06. Always find the tight spot in the chain and mark it if necessary. That tight spot is what needs to be in spec. Then tighten each side quarter turn at a time and torque axle to 78 lb ft. And recheck. Quarter turn is usually all it takes and keeps you from overdoing it right off the bat.

Best way I’ve found is put a wrench between chain and sprocket when tightening. Perfect slack every time.

What if I haven’t left a space under the rectifier? Between the airbox and r/r

Probably be fine. Still gets a lot of air but you would be impeding the air a little more.

The bike still runs fine and is a treat. Aslong sd you think the space underneath isn’t crucial I’ll just leave it flat to the airbox 🙌🏼

This isn’t a sanctioned roadrace, is it? Mirrors on a race bike? 🤷

@@motorich Ah, got ya. Ever get a roadracing license? I use to club race with MCRA out of St. Louis but also got my license for CCS. Talk about taking it to another level with competition. 😳
@motorich8 ай бұрын
@Image-X yes, I got my license but I didn't ever race with them. But I will say that there were quite a few of the CCS racers that raced with me in the club racing. I was a front runner still... but there are some guys that are just dumb fast. I don't stand a chance.
@Image-X8 ай бұрын
@@motorich With club racing, you usually have a handful of the usual suspect fast guys. With CCS or any other similar organization, almost everyone is fast.

Almost 40K miles on my 10RR and I just heard a weird high pitched whine when it cranks over. Two other videos on KZbin proved it was the starter. Okay, no big deal. My bike is under extended warranty and they are good at making things right. My problem is, I just got the bike back LAST WEEK from the 15K Major Service where they had the tank off and replaced the fuel pump and removed the air housing to do the valve clearance! Now this!! What a pain in the ass. Everything looks somewhat easy but I am going to pass this off on them. This way, I don't screw it up. From start to finish if you were not recording, how long is this job?
