NUTCRACKER AUDITIONS with Elizabeth Avantaggio and Kate Smedal Open Auditions for Local Dancers: AUDITION DATE: September 10, 2016 Nutcracker auditions are open to dancers who are 6 years old or older, who are currently enrolled in a ballet class at the studio of their choice, who are available to attend 8 weekend rehearsals from September to December, and who can attend the matinee and evening performance on December 3, 2016 at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center. We have many roles to cast. The Nutcracker experience is one that stays with you for a lifetime. The shared experiences, the teamwork, the inspiring artistry, and the unique feeling of being part of something special in your community; keeps participants and families coming back to join the fun every year. Our annual December Nutcracker performance features variations from the full length version of the Nutcracker , Acts I and II and we typically cast 150+ performers. Our Nutcracker 2016 Handbook is available on our website. Details include production rehearsal details, costuming and more. 8 SATURDAY REHEARSALS ARE HELD BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9AM-2PM : Dancers are only scheduled to be at rehearsals for 1-2 hours as we do try to keep time commitments to a minimum, therefore it is important to attend all 8 rehearsal dates.
