I was familiar and knew people who were vegetarian. Was turning 40 before someone said, "Vegan"? wtf. No cheese and no eggs??? That makes no sense. You don't kill the animals for their domestic products. We share their life cycle. It is a pretty fine moral point, for me.

Still one of my favorite bits of all time. It was an episode of 'Spade in America' when Sean Penn is giving David Spade a tattoo and they're making 'small talk'. Spade asks Penn if he's "seen the talking pig movie", and Penn shakes his head no. And Spade replies "What? You haven't seen 'The Net'?" Both 'Babe' and 'The Net' were out at that time. 1995.

Lights Out from the lockdown is the best chronicle we have of that time. I have so much appreciation for David, looking at this now in 2025, remembering how much he helped us through that crazy couple of years +.
