This is cool. All I know of cricket is that it’s sorta like baseball but not really lol. Learned a lot.

Just discovered cricket. As a baseball fan this seems like a sport I could get into. Love the challenge for the batter and the 360 depth of play.

Good time to be getting into it with the T20 World Cup on. The contest between batter and bowler is great, especially as the bowler is allowed to deliberately hit the batter to rattle their confidence.

I think people have a misconception about baseball players or just Americans in general. We don’t hate cricket, it’s just obviously not our sport. I think that a professional baseball player can at least appreciate another sport that is somewhat similar and maybe even take something from it. On the flip side I thought it was wonderful that the first guy was at least able to mention Fenway and Yankee Stadium. Both sports have iconic things that both athletes can find common ground on and relate too.

I am surprised to see Billy Root, English First Class Cricketer and brother of current playing cricketing Test Legend Joe Root, and no one is talking about him. We cricket lovers can imagine how big references are those. Respect.😊😇

It would be fascinating to see a baseball player in a real game. Trying to understand the cerebral aspect of Cricket and not just "See ball, hit ball". I can't imagine a baseball player against a good spin bowler- they might absolutely nail a few but I don't think they'll be picking a googly! I'm also curious about catching. In Baseball (apart from the glove) you are generally catching balls with the same kind of trajectories and angles but cricket could have a ball coming at you with any kind of trajectory and at all sorts of angles depending on your position. I don't know how many slip type catches they have to make or trying to stop some low rocket at backward point. There just seems to be far more variation in cricket compared to Baseball. Like many American sports there seems to be far more emphasis on raw physical attributes rather than technique and I don't think that would translate well. *After watching this I think the biggest issue he'd have batting in cricket is his feet- he's never had to think about stepping to the pitch and that would get him in an awful lot of trouble.

It's like they didn't explain any of the rules first or show him any clips of the game. Even a "foul ball" (baseball) could score runs in cricket since the field is 360.

In cricket, the batsman plays through the line of the ball. In baseball the, batsman plays across the line of the ball. The reason, obviously, is in cricket one is protecting the wicket. In baseball, too, ball is always a full toss ... bowlers in cricket try to avoid doing that; apart from anything else, bowler is trying to get ball movement before and after the bounce. Two great games, though!

hi guys , very disappointed in both the New Balance bat and that company . I bought that bat in January this year for the youngster and wow what a let down . The actual bat , ie the wood , the pick up and the feel was really good , however everything else is just falling apart . Its as though they got SpongeBob to do the finishing touches on the bat , Firstly im convinced the grip is the wrong size for the handle , if you not careful after a few good knocks you will be left holding the rubber while the bat goes flying through the air . The stickers and protection cover are also peeling off and because and because of that , the nice ping the bat once had is now gone . its utter rubbish . The only thing still stuck on the bat is the toe protector , but i wouldnt put any money on that lasting to long . In summary , stay away from the New Balance bats , im sure the shoes etc will be good , thats what they do after all , but making bats im afraid is a bridge too far for them . I definetly wont ever buy one again , rather stick to the tried and tested .. This thing is now a massively expensive paperweight . think i might just chuck it on the braai ( BBQ ) one day , just waiting for the stupid cover to totally fall off

@@ihatejpmorgan Lindor is one my favourite Baseball players but what were you watching man ? In this video He just couldn't bat in Cricket, appeared very amateurish , Cricket batting is extremely technical, still cricket batters regularly hit 325ft+ while attacking a 90 mph cricket fastball , Lindor is very talented but he needs more time here. Also Cricket is not just about one hit

Cricket is basically a game of marbles with humans. It's not a real sport. It might get there one day but that's have alot of changes they have to make, it would be a totally different game.

In a odi match most of the baseball hitter will get caught out ngl. You get a wooden bat, no bowler will bowl you in your sweet spot , give you slowest ball possible or just give you a almost wide ball to spice things up. Oho and if you are selfish and want to hit every ball six(home runs) without thinking about the next available batsman you lose the match and your batting order will be at 6/7 as you are just a power hitter.
@parker7441 Жыл бұрын
Baseball mentality while batting is dangerous, you need to think about the field, your team , defend and also have a good strike rate . You shouldn't always go for six , 100% catch out there.
@kofca7131 Жыл бұрын
I have really no Idea of Cricket so I'm asking just out of curiousity do the guy's who throw the ball to opponent hitters sometimes aim accidentally or even on purpose to the head? In baseball stuff like that happens also pitchers get hit by a ball in the head while wearing nothing like a hat
@youlesie2311 ай бұрын
It’s a legitimate tactic to bowl in and around the batsman’s head. They’re called bouncers, and they’re a genuine tactic to getting players out. In ODI and T20 cricket (the shorter formats of the game which are over within a day), there are restrictions on the amount of bouncers you can bowl, but in Test cricket (which lasts for five days), you can bowl as many as you want.

Hi guys , still loving the show . just a bit of a warning I purchased a New Balance bat in the end of January this year and in the price range it really was the best piece of wood i could get , unfortunately the workmanship on the bat is extremely poor . The grip basically doesn't fit the bat properly so it just slides up the handle massive amount , the stickers are peeling off ,along with the protective cover . So although it is a good piece of wood for the price, the rest of it leaves a lot to be desired , the toe cap is also fine , that hasn't fallen off . So if you looking to buy one I wouldn't say don't buy one but if you are someone who likes their bat to look new when they get to their first game I would strongly advise you to look at another manufacturer . And before people say why don't you contact them instead of messaging here , well I did and in a nutshell they basically told me its not there problem . So yeah , as I say the bat is really good but the finer details are really poorly put together , Please keep up the good show , I really do enjoy it

This is why it is so important to have the right people in charge of the game, and why things have deteriorated so much. Those with no love of the traditions of the game, who are so enamoured by all the hype that has come from the US in all things, have jettisoned all subtlety in our sport, in favour of the mindless 'Big Bash' crowd-pleaser approach, AND at Lords of all places. Shame on you Rob Keys!
