Sadly this is the fate of all mass produced cars. It's a case of out of sight out of mind. When was the last time you saw a MK3 Cortina on the road? I've seen one MK1 Granada in the last 20 years, lads in their late 30's have never even heard of them. My kids think they're ugly.
