This project is more than exciting now that they finally rolled out the E24 model with the uncoated brass boiler that does not include any lead whatsoever. Looking forward SO much to it! Thanks for your insightful guide, I'll definitely modify mine aswell

Lead free brass still has a few tenths of a percent of lead in it. Likely going to do you no harm, but just wanted to let you know.

Hey, I made something similar with a video on my channel also! I just recently bought your open FFBoard and was excited to try using it. I had your exact high frequency oscillation problem. Did you ever find a solution?
@GigawipfАй бұрын
Well it is a way too fast motor. The solution is to use a low kv motor which also gives you more torque.

Geat video, I was checking the datasheet of the mige m130st-10025 and it says that ppr is equal to 2500 converting to cpr should be 10000 cpr, your motor is different? I own a m130st-10010 but using argon, i was wondering if openffb would have better ffb than argon

Do you know if anyone has anyone forked the code to support two h bridges for joysticks/yokes? I'm working on an existing hardware design that uses brushed motors / 600PPR encoders and end switches. I am talking with some other users about switching the control board to OpenFFB from existing Arduino program.

i asked about doing this to my delonghi ecp3420 in the community and they straight up dissed me and just called the delonghi trash instead of helping me make it not trash . extremely toxic and elitist community . too bad because the project could have been open truely open source if it wasnt for the creators being so weird about addapting this to other brands of cheap machines. i got help outsode the community and it worked great . great project but terrible entitled and judgemental people as is often the case with open source

@user-hk8np4dw4o4 ай бұрын
Your complaint is foolish. Someone made a mod for a specific product and you are mad they wouldn’t specifically design an entirely new mod for your cheaper machine? Not to mention the machine you are using uses inferior internal parts. Do you go into a grocery store and get mad because they don’t sell lumber too?

Good work , i made my own wheel as well but simpler using pots , it was 10 years ago , now its a different thing , however , i did have Logitech Driving Force pro , and other then being loud , its enough . I also found that there is no need for 70% of its torque , and its the one with 1 motor and a smaller one , there is a GT version with a stronger motor , and then with 2 motors , this is in my opinion not needed . So i think there is no need for 100E Stepper motor , half the size is more then enough .. But in any case great work , tho if you ask me would i build my own wheel even with potentiometers , i would not , the amount of work needed is just too much , as for you you could have earned 3 of those wheels for the time you built one , but i guess if you want to work in the area then it is recommended it all depends on what you want to do .

Great stuff you've made! Quick question, I've got an old hoverboard motor laying around. As it's also just a bldc motor, would your setup work if I add a suitable encoder? I can't see why not, other than it being a bit weaker than that servo. Or am I missing something? Thanks!
@Gigawipf8 ай бұрын
Motor will need some modifications to mount the encoder and other hardware to it but yes i have seen people use these motors successfully.

@@Gigawipf Thank you very much for responding so quickly. I'm sure gonna give it a try. Maybe also an idea for you for a future video. I've seen multiple people ask for it on demo video's and I couldn't find any good hoverboard to ffb wheels tutorials. Hoverboard motor are very easy to find and are very cheap. I also think/hope they can make a very compact and capable ffb wheel. Thanks again for all your great work!

I want to build one but afraid of cogging, even with odrive and good motors you say there are cogging, what can be done to avoid it ? Ffbeasts build uses scooter motors amd it seems free of cogging
@Gigawipf8 ай бұрын
The motors i had in the video do have cogging. The odrive cogging compensation can reduce that but it is better to use motors with lower cogging. Some users have built systems with hoverboard/scooter motors which are smoother but more difficult to mount encoders to.
