Hello I have a sea frog so maybe you’re unfamiliar but there is anti-fog sheets instead of the little pouch. Do you know how I would use them?

Great vid. Just got the tg-7 pt-059 combo and still need to get the hang of it. Let's say I do a three day dive trip. If there's no need to access/review the photographs, would you say there's a need to remove the camera from the housing in between dives? This of course while still rinsing in fresh water after each dive?
@coralseafoundation841
@coralseafoundation841 4 ай бұрын
You'll need to recharge the battery you will need to open the housing.

Which red filter do you recommend?
@coralseafoundation841
@coralseafoundation841 8 ай бұрын
We don't use one - the camera has shallow and deep underwater settings which do a pretty good job of shifting the white balance back toward the red end.

@@coralseafoundation841 thank you so much! May I also ask which lights are suitable for underwater photography? Can they bet attached to the housing?

@@KevinStewart-uv1gd best to ask a dedicated underwater photography shop that question, we mainly shoot with natural light.

Don't look and function filamentous bacteria and cyanobacteria pretty much like algae in terms of appearance and nutrition/photoynthetic activity.. ? isn't it just a change of labels?🙂 More important, what were the consequences of protecting the parrotfish vs. not protecting them? A.f.a.I.k., haven't there been quite a few intensively fished reefs, including targeting the parrotfish, which recovered poorly after natural disturbances ? Some comparing studies would be interesting.. Further on, even if the majority of the stomach content was comprised of bacterial material, wasn't there also some algae?
@coralseafoundation841
@coralseafoundation841 11 ай бұрын
Hi Niko, thanks for your questions. No, they aren't functionally similar because a large % of the cyanobacterial assemblage is epilithic (growing several mm under the reef surface), and thus is unavailable to other "herbivores" like rabbitfish and surgeonfish because they can't excavate when they bite. The consequences of not protecting parrotfish, in tropical countries where fishing pressure is high, coral reefs may already be degraded, and parrotfish are the functional group doing best on those reefs, is that fishers target other species which have life histories much less suited to handling fishing pressure. Sure, there is a small % turf algae in the digestive tract but this is small in volume and nutrient content compared to the cyanobacteria.

“First Nation” is a term used to describe Aboriginal peoples of Canada who are ethnically neither Métis nor Inuit. This term came into common usage in the 1970s and '80s and generally replaced the term “Indian,” The Australian Aborigine lives here.
