Wow thats a powerful feature! I imagine it would be useful for intro's, breakdowns/build ups in dance music, breaks, fills, or for creating longer sequences that have structured variations that make a longer phrase or section that lasts 32 - 64 bars in a dark progressive trance/Zenon Records-esque trance composition. Id love to see a more in depth video on how this can be used! I wonder if there is a way to engage it/disengage it on the fly with a "one click" or with a cv source such as a manual switch/gate/trigger from an outside source?

Hi, i have a question: Can i link my sc to my qsc without a group module?
@FrapTools
@FrapTools 17 күн бұрын
Hello! No, it is not possible because you would lack the physical output jacks with the sum of the SC and the QSC signals. You would need a group module for it.

Im so curious to hear more examples of kick / percussion / bass lines going through Fumana. I've seen one of your other videos that do this. It gives such a unique character to the tone. I cant wait to get my hands on a fumana to process rhtyhm section stems through it. I think it would make for great breaks/fills in psytrance beats/basslines.

This sound is what many in the psytrance scene call the "squelch" and almost always uses a saw wave and a bandpass filter. The fumana gives a unique flavour of this iconic psytrance sound and is the main reason I want it so bad! Also for running drum grooves through it for breakdown sections.

@@nickjones5641 Ah right, sorry if I jumped straight to the most commonly asked question. We use ICs as op-amps but the circuit design is made from scratch. We do not use any kind of specialized ICs. Hope it's clearer!

Lovely technique! I’m glad I bought a 2nd Falistri… I kept thinking about using the CV2 lanes into the A / D inputs to shift the harmonics… maybe run that sequence with fewer steps? I’m looking forward to trying this :)

please consider making your modules with silver panels! I love the sounds of frap modules. I love your videos! The smudgy fingerprints on black matte modules combined with my mild ocd is the reason I don't own any frap modules though. I wish you guys would release silver panels for your releases.

By the way guys, Mat's idea of a future Frap Tools module that manages an array of complex voltages is a very nice idea. I imagine that Mat's choice to get the Joranalogue Morph 4 might be related to that desire.
@Pspiralifemusicandedu
@Pspiralifemusicandedu 2 ай бұрын
My favorite piece was the 2205 preview for sure! I agree with Mat's answer to the final question about what he would like from a future frap tools module. I also want to see more modules with large knobs/spacing like cunsa. Even just an ADSR with big knobs is hard to find unless it is very basic such as the kind from the Erica Synths - Black series. One of the reasons I am favouring Frap Tools is actually because of the large features/large HP. Its not only helpful for manual interaction in performing and recording to audio, but is also helpful in my opinion in educational scenarios. For those who are new to modular/erorack, they can learn what different modules offer to the musician. The modular synths where everything is about saving space and hyper multifunctionality might be efficient, but everything is crammed together and can be overhwleming. Joranalogue for example, is a favorite company of mine for its flexibility in design, however, I do not feel they are suitable for performing. I wish some of their modules had larger knobs and spacing. Great interview thank you! Btw A large-knob wavefolder would be nice!
@FrapTools
@FrapTools 2 ай бұрын
Your insights on the form factor issues are spot-on. It is very hard to find a compromise between space, functionality, and usability, and we're feeling like there's still so much to experiment to find an ideal balance. We're glad people are enjoying Cunsa because, so far, it is probably the design project we're most proud of.

Does this mean the the first mode accepts new triggers and restarts the rise stage before the first rise has completed and that the second mode ignores new triggers until the rise stage has completed?
@FrapTools
@FrapTools 2 ай бұрын
"To rise" immediately starts a rising stage. If the envelope is falling, it will invert it. If it is already rising, it will keep rising (it won't restart from 0). "On rest" ignores every trigger until the "fall" stage has finished.
