Depends on how fast the material dries. We have a very fast drying sealer/wet on wet (UK) and doing your edges first can cause stand up on the panel

People will say blotchy when they dont understand how water base paint works and how metalics can even stand up and mess a lot of things up. Great technique my friend. Blues , reds and small ,medium and heavy metallics will do this😊
