May I remind Star Wars fans that there were 2 Death Stars :p......elements repeating themselves has never stopped Star Wars from doing anything :p.....It's all about the context and how the whole thing is handled.........Takes me a lot more than that to be pissed or enthusiastic......And maybe I'm being naive, but I tend to hope that they are well in control on what they leak or not...I'd be very much surprised if their big movie was just a simple story that ends up resembling a lot a whole clone wars episode.........And I mean, chances are that Feloni knows the whole Star Wars universe including TCW much better than 99.999% of us.........let's have a bit of faith and wait before complaining.......anyway, this is star wars, must of us would up complaining even if they gave us an amazing movie.
@shaggyshack238 күн бұрын
You make a good point! And there are several repetitive elements throughout Star Wars that play out very well. George Lucas himself compared this very idea to poetry stating that “it rhymes.” Which I hope to be true for this movie! As I said I am very torn on whether or not I like this, but we will just have to wait and see. If it turns out to be an enjoyable movie I will be the first to praise it! Also, I take everything that is labeled as a *rumor* with a grain of salt, so I’m not even fully in on not liking this idea as it may not even come to fruition! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

The fact that this wet fart of a series not only managed to snag a second season but one with a budget running into the hundreds of millions, despite completely failing to connect with viewers in any meaningful numbers, is quite inexplicable. Tony Gilroy mut have one hell of a blackmail file on Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni and co.

As always with disney products, im torn. But: i think whats happening here, is a misunderstanding, cause the only context i have seen for the 690million usd number is that its the coat for either the entire show, including season 1 and in some sources including rogue one. Now season one had 290 million usd, but hardly any of it was spent on marketing. Its hard to tell if some of the numbers thrown around do include marketing cost and post production cost, but the caolyte for example cost dismey about 180 million usd and according to one aource i found cracked 230 million some time through post production, but k think disneys VERY aggressive marketing campaign for this show plays into that. So the more believable numbers ive seen for season two are in the 290-450 million range, which sounds a lot more plausible, even tho still very high, considering that andor season one cost disney about as much to make as three seasons of mandalorian. It also seems, that the marketing budget is a lot higher now than it was before. While i am indeed worried about studio interference, i think past star wars productions have shown, the biggest mistake disney makes is hiring utterly incompetent writers, or even worse, incompetent directors with no connection to the franchise they are representing, leaving the writers needing to work around the directors unreasonable imaginations. The sequels are a great example of how that, combined with an attrotious schedule leads to a bad result. The acolyte on the other hand shows what can occur when an incompetent director/writer is left to their own devices with hardly any studio control. Ahsoka, book of if boba fett, mando season 2 and onwards, as well as obi wan, all show what happens when you turn a simple writer who got famous for a decent show, in which most of his own inventions break canon or the world he worked with, is elevated to god status. With Andor it seems like there is a plan. The writers have proven themselves capable, while everybody else in the design process has shown, that they know what they are doing. So i think there is a good chance that it will do just fine, but also disappoint at the box office, like season 1. The fact that disney greenlit season two, even tho hardly anyone watched season 1 when it came out, only a few people did afterwards (most of whom loved it tbf), and a very vocal minority of the people who did watch it couldnt stop complaining cause it didnt have their new favorite character rey or a Post-Charakter-assassination luke skywalker, is a miracle. (Good luck untangling that sentence)
@shaggyshack23Ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment! Yes, that large (almost) $700 million number is for the entirety of the show thus far with each season being a couple hundred million (no marketing costs included, which always seems to raise the final budget by tens of millions) just as we saw for the acolyte almost hitting the $300 million mark. I agree with your breakdown when it comes to how other shows have performed and been made compared to the Andor series, and it is nothing but accurate. It is a shame that they went in those directions for certain projects that are arguably worlds more important than Andor’s story but at the end of the day there isn’t much that we can do about it unfortunately. As you said, I am torn. I am as well as Andor is a great product, but the handling of business and the budget situation surrounding it is nothing short of questionable.

And even with the excelent writing, gripping story and stellar acting the typical fanboys wanted "more action" and cried because Darth Vader didnt appear...effing muppets. The Star Wars fanboys are the worst.They wouldnt be able to see gold if you rubbed it in their faces. Imagine a single monologue being worth more than the entire Stars Wars canon put together...Yes Luthen, Im talking about you.

Andor s1 was good because it flew under the radar while their big budget shit received all the attention. I can see execs from Mando, BOBF, Kenobi, Acolyte, Ahsoka all trying to put there shitty little fingers in this. Andor literally is the last glimmer on interest I have for Star Wars. If I even get an inkling of interference, I’m out.
