I actually never tried it with a power amp and conventional cab (though I'm sure it would have sounded great). For me, the appeal of the pedal was that it eliminated the need to carry a separate amp.

My experience has been that most of the stock presets are pretty bad, but there are a few (like this one) that can sound great with just a little tweaking. Try to find one that's decent to begin with, then make minor adjustments to dial it in further.

I've been, running the boss gx-100 through the headrush frfr112 and am that impressed with the speaker I'm getting a second to have a stereo rig, the boss gx-100 is pretty good with some tweaking but that Tonex sounds wicked awesome man! I was thinking of getting the tonex but am leaning more towards the headrush prime due to the effects loop I am wondering how much tweaking you did with the tonex to get the tone in the video coz you've done an awesome job it sounds really great if I was going on audio alone I'd swear on my son you're playing through an amp!

Thanks for the kind words. That particular preset only required a bare minimum of tweaking to sound fantastic, so it quickly became my favorite. @@mathewpybus1599 No, simply because I only own one of them. I don't imagine it would add much thickness unless you were using stereo effects (e.g. pitch detune or chorus). In that case, you'd likely hear an appreciable difference.

I originally ordered a Molecular back in June, but I’m switching my order to. The King Kong (because of the channel switching and solo boost… and looks cooler). I’m told that the molecular is more like the Cameron Atomica and the king Kong is more like the Cameron CCV. I think I like both amps based on the fractal models I’ve heard. Wondering if you can shed some light on the differences between the two, besides the obvious channel switching/boost foot switch.
@jayheath19712 жыл бұрын
I've not owned a standard King Kong, so I can't weigh in on the tonal differences between the two. The good thing about this amp is that it has the gain tone of the Molecular (which I like) with the extra channel and switching options of the KK. Nik should be able to build one just like it if you're interested.
