I have found using a 2 inch roller as you heat up the epdm helps drastically.

The vapour barrier should be on the inside of the upstand, it's to keep internal moisture laden air out of the insulation.

I am about to place an order on the link below, but I need a bit more info (sorry for my poor knowledge, a beginner DIY...), Our shed's roof is Self Adhesive PU Flet Sheet. A few years, it's not bad but needs some attention, I want to polish it with this Arboflex Pu, followed by UV protection. My question is ) is it ok to use Fibreglass Matting on the PU Flet sheet? and b) Just to reconfirm, is Arboflex Pu, ok to use on the PU Flet Sheet? (I am sorry, as I am still learning so want to make sure before I place an order at the below link)

My flat roof felt is melting,. Its mineral its needs Granular stones.

What is your option on what most roofing manufactures are saying the top osb3/ply should not be used and the roofing product fixed directly onto the insulation. Also the correct flat roof insulation is not foiled back if adhering or torching on the top cover. It must be fleece backed such as the kingspan Thermaroof TR26 or TR27. Full detailed descriptions of the technical reasons I can quote from them. But the short of it is that the top cannot absorb or disperse the heat and is subject to below-ambient low temperatures. So subjects the material to moisture vapour cycles which repeatedly condenses and evaporates on its surface, so in time the top deck will rot and compromise the performance of the system.

Why not just torch on two layers again. Far better job no need for pu mastic or any of that prep work. No need for reinforcement matting or any of that shite… torch on still the best flat roof…. Fact

Great video I've bought some 18mm osb3 bourds but the ones I've bought just say kronospan on one side there doesn't seem To be a rough side both sides are smooth Should I sand it or return it for a different type ? Thanks in advance

Good video - but you could have saved the client a bit of money.... osb acts as a vapour barrier, just needed to tape the joints. Also, was the waterproof membrane EPDM? It could have gone over the insulation without yet another layer of osb...

Hi, I've recently had my 60m2 flat roof replaced with a rubber roof with one join. The thing is, it doesn't feel like it's stuck down properly. The waters pooling because there isn't enough pitch & the side with the gutters aren't stuck down properly so the water can't run into the gutters. There's also no vapour barrier which makes me think could be a reason why it didn't stick down properly. I was charged 13k just for the roof replaced not including scaffolding

There should not be a timber cover placed over the insulation.

Gunning that chase like a 5 year old what a mess try laying it directly over osb with out old felt under it wont last 5 years you know it i know it .just not roofers end of ...chancers roller and a sweeping brush. talk the talk love to see them on some tricky detail be like a dirty protest they'd be covered in the shite

There is a expensive version of PIR for flat roofs. Does it make any difference? For example: 120mm Recitcel PowerDeck Flat Roof Insulation Board 1200mm x 600mm is double the price per square meter compared to 120mm Recticel Eurothane Insulation Board 2400mm x 1200mm
