I blast music like this when I stay with my family members...they look at me like wtf are you listening to. Is that music. I say, why sure😁. Then put some top 40 music too on my playlist. Then play some more avant garde jazz, etc.🎼🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🙏🏾👍🏾

PSA for the Krantz archaeologists out there: there are several sections in this one (the ending, the section before the ring mod/drum breakdown) which are based on the B section of #2 - Not Consciously Written About - from Long To Be Loose. With few other similarities to this cut, this section and ending are also used to end 'Infinity Split' on Greenwich Mean.

I know I'm musically shallow and "don't get" his newer stuff, but I really miss this "Old Wayne" stuff.
@gardnergovan84435 жыл бұрын
it is the melodic touch here as opposed to his more complicated time signatures on his newer stuff which can sound more contrived.

11:02 head out 11:24 segue to the outro of Dream Called Love (2DM track 4) 12:08 back to head 12:56 a riff I'd only heard on the 1999 Marciac set, I guess this had become part of the arrangement 13:26 back to head

The theme at 9:17 appears as track 12 "Spektor" on Greenwich Mean. The composed theme in the beginning sounds like something left over from the LTBL period - I've never heard it that I can recall anywhere, so thank you. If this track was written as a whole (with the usual open sections of course) I think that's fascinating as the style shifts markedly. The segue at 9:18 is abrupt, like a GM edit, but the waveform looks more or less like a live transition. Wow...

I am interested in trying to pin down the date of this set. A few thoughts, assuming your note about this being 2001: K3 played at least 34 times at 55 bar in 2001. YBL content (includes Three Pager) is drawn from Dec 2001 to June 2002 (liner notes), so some overlap there. There is a wonderful version of Three Pager on the Marciac (Aug 8-9, 1999) set (vnQkkZiYmLw) which you probably know already.

Thanks so much for the upload! I have a few shows I downloaded from Wayne's site from a few years back when he sold the shows along with his albums. Some with Tim on bass others with Anthony Jackson or Paul Sokolow. Thanks so much for the upload, I very much appreciate it! This is a great record by the way!

The early 2000's was the best at the 55. Completely cutting edge music and this band at its peak imo. 15 years later, I'm still obsessed with this band!
