Nice break down Neal. You know your stuff. Good on you for sharing your knowledge. I adored Jeff and still love Toto. Their last couple of live bluray's are fantastic.

Maybe it's because I'm musically inclined, but do alot of students not have hand-eye coordination? I found drums quite easy.....even from the beginning. When I was in a band and writing songs on my own in my Apt, I'd have to physically show my drummer what to play. When he'd play double bass.....his high hat hand would stop. Is that natural or was I with a drummer who sucked? LOL
@Jermusicislife843 ай бұрын
Hey dude, I'm a rhythm guitarist/drummer. How long do you wait to teach students double pedal? I started right away with double bass beats like Metallica, Slayer, Exodus, Testament, Overkill etc etc
@Jermusicislife843 ай бұрын
I don't wanna brag, I'm a rhythm guitarist, but I can also play drums. I didn't need lessons
@Busbybeats3 ай бұрын
I also play guitar, bass, keyboards, write my own music, and record and mix. I didn't need lessons.

Nah, Slik Toxik wasn't hair metal, they came out just as 80's Hair Bands started fizzling out. I dug Slik Toxik. Too bad they didn't stay together. I was in high school when they came out

We had too many diverse influences that came out in the music to be considered hair metal.

Great video In the guitar center drum book 1, one buzz is to two hits or rolls. What we learn is 4, 8, 12, 16 etc. 4 is RL two rolls each and so on.

Cool! I've never seen that before. I've been playing for quite a long time but I'm not at the technical level I should be...becasue I'm not proficient with rudiments. I'm dedicated to my day job, but i could still get more serious about drums too. Neat tip Neal.
@Busbybeats3 ай бұрын
Glad you found it useful, rudiments are challenging but really are worth it to increase creativity.

Still feel your passion Neal! I was there back in the day and saw you guys several times. I'm from Thunder Bay. Irrelevant was incredible, my favourite, but this album also rocked! Great memories for sure and I dearly miss the band. Glad to see you doing well and I wish you the best!

Thanks so much Jan! Did you see us in Thunder Bay? Very glad to hear you like Irrelevant, I will do some drum playthroughs from this album too, I may do Just Fade Away.

@@Busbybeats Indeed I saw you there. Inntowner and Sleeping Giant/ Blue Diamond. There was quite the energy about the band at the time when you guys were soaring. I always thought that irrelevant should have taken off more. I thought it was amazing! Thanks for taking the time to write and I'll tune in more often!
