I get you, but you don't need a better camera. (Take a look at Andy To's phone videos to see what you can out of a phone). If you want to improve, concentrate on scripting, storytelling and editing. That will do more for your videos than a new shiny camera. The best of luck!

Mate, you don’t need better gear, you need to create more high-value content and earn sufficient subscribers to either pay for your gear, or have something of value to offer sponsors.

Thanks so much, @peterfritzphoto! I really appreciate your advice and the clear direction- it's exactly what I need to hear. Your insight means a lot and will definitely help me improve. Thanks again for taking the time to share!

What is wrong with this world?????
@JamesCExplorationsАй бұрын
@itsWillLee Seeking help or sponsorship from strangers and large companies is how countless opportunities are created---there's no shame in it. Sometimes, though, unsolicited "advice" can be more distracting than helpful, so it might've been better to keep those two cents in your pocket. As for a career predictions, fortune-telling might not be your calling--definitely best to stick with the day job. And if you ever yourself needing assistance, don't hesitate to reach out (maybe even to someone who can help clear your perspective). Help is, after all one of the most valuable things we can give or receive.
@JamesCExplorationsАй бұрын
@ItsWillLee Its a bit disheartening to see someone criticize others for seeking help or sponsorship--especially when collaboration and support are what make creative communities thrive. Taking advice from a professional photographer is a wise move; learning from those with experience leads to growth. With only 7 subscribers and no content, you might benefit from a similar approach. Instead of bashing others, consider contributing something positive or seeking help yourself. That mindset shift could make a real difference--for you and the world around you.

@@JamesCExplorations helping people who are in *need* is not the same as asking for help because you *want* to do something. I never gave any advice, I commented my opinion for what it's worth. Lets not forget, you posted on a public forum asking for help because you *want* to do something, not because you are in *need* of help. Good luck...

All fair points but while I chose an R7 for my first mirrorless camera as I mainly film wildlife, if I wanted a great full frame camera at a decent price the R8 would be my choice without doubt. Cracking little camera for the price.

Did you mention the names of the flies you used? What size hooks? Barbed or not? What rod, line and reel are you using. Personally, I'd like to know all that information? Enjoy the videos. FredSG
@JamesCExplorations5 ай бұрын
Yes I do. The only thing I didn’t mention was the hook size or if it is barbed or not. Most of the hooks I use I debard as far as the hook size I don’t know I would have to do some looking on that but will add more of that information in the videos. Thank you for enjoying the videos

Sort of wish you would mention the equipment you are using each time you go fishing. The rod, line, leader and tippet, and fly you are using. I guess I'm OCD and like knowing what other guys are using when fly fishing! Fred

There’s BIG brook trout in that river

The Brook trout get a good size in this part of the river. Right now with the warm water temps they haven’t been that active and I have seen a lot of little trout swimming in the river

Have you considered making a wading staff? I went with the Korker wading boot because it has the various kinds of add on exterior soles depending on the surface you are walking on. I have a link to "DIY Wading Staff," if you might be interested.
@JamesCExplorations7 ай бұрын
I have looked at wading staffs but the rivers I have been in have been clear and low. In the future depending on what rivers I go to I might think of using on or making one

Nice review on the Orvis bag. Looks like we're getting maybe 15" of snow tonight and tomorrow! Never ends! Maybe a future video to consider - an overview of local rivers, streams, ponds and lakes for fly fishing that you've been on. Or gear you use for wet wading? Have you ever said your first name on any of your videos? Keep the videos coming! Fred (Resolute Tenkara)

Thank you. I have more gear reviews coming up and soon and I will work on getting a video up on some of the waters I frequent. Well as soon as the snow will let me. Lol

Thanks for the review. Can you determine if the tippet holder is removable? And if it can be removed, are you left with an opening where it was located? I just don't see me filling it up with tippet rings. Also, when you make your videos having light coming at the camera from behind you through the window puts you in a sort of a shadow and what your displaying is hard to see. You lose a lot of detail. Really appreciate your videos. Fred
@JamesCExplorations9 ай бұрын
The tippet bar is removable but the housing the bar sits in is not. I currently have 6 tippet spools on it and I carry three spools of just leader material on my fishpond tippet holder. I will have a follow up video coming out this week with the bag all put together and a closer look at everything

I was surprised to see you keep pulling more boxes out of that middle compartment. I'm looking at this pack for non-fly fishing. Does the middle compartment hold 3600 tackle trays? Thanks for the video.

Sorry it took a minute to answer but Yes 2 or 3 3600 boxes will fit inside the middle compartment of the bag
