It is notable how clean the system appears (this is the 2nd line I've seen). Very little graffiti and virtually no litter visible - even in winter. Well done Manchester, that's the way it should be - other cities need to take note!

I really started to use the Metrolink much more frequently in my 23 years living in Manchester just after Covid, outside of the City Centre, across all lines and I really began to appreciate just how efficient and reliable it really is, both for attending job interviews and for leisure, going to parks, etc - it really is a lifeline and is a far better alternative to buses and trains - now when I go home to Ireland, even though its network is not as extensive, I still use the LUAS trams around Dublin, as well as the DART trains as an alternative to buses where possible

The new infrastructure is excellent, however the speed limits do seem overly restrictive. For the whole street-running section, the tram isn't allowed above 30 km/h (19 mph) and the frequent turns have even more restictive speeds. One is limited to just 10 km/h (6 mph)!

The only thing missing in watching videos from Japan in modern cities is the Jetson`s in their flying cars.

This carriage has a "flat" - uneven wear on the steel tyre on one of the wheels. That is the rhythmic tapping which can be heard throughout the video when the train is moving.

Love how the railway runs side by side. Took a tram once to the Jewellery Quarter to catch a train from there

The tram runs on part of the old Gret Western Railway formation as far as Wolverhampton, the Railway next to it leaves the route of the Tram at Smethwick and Runs via Kidderminster to Worcester and South Wales

Great to see so much of the line is on-street! Far more interesting than having it on its own tracks like the Croydon one.

The first junction at Victoria is overly complicated leading to a broken rail that took them months to fix. Also they rarely terminate trams from Bury at Victoria or run trams to the Trafford Centre
