I was living in Brighton at the time and there was a very strange atmosphere in the city that night. I guess thousands of people decending on a small space will do that. Miraculously, it all passed without any major issues and was enjoyed by all those present.

Great interview, the questions are exactly what I was curious about and would have asked him ! ❤️ (Btw, he's my absolute favourite) And you built great rapport, there's great energy throughout, you are the enthusiastic dialogue partner that Norman Cook deserves ! It's funny how your interview, that I had not searched for and got suggested instead.. is actually the best one !! Update: Oh yeah, I just got to the music videos part !!! - Exactly my thoughts and SO important to be honoured, his videos got me interested in his music, as I was very young, just 13, when I saw them so I might not have understood just the music completely at the time. It wouldn't have been the same without those videos !

I was there. Arrived at 1pm and stayed until the end. We had to! There was no way off the beach until it finished! Absolute carnage but it was epic. One of those very special moments in dance history.

I did a remix on a Fostex d90 HDR as I couldnt afford a sampler, was primarily into recording guitars. Got disqualified from a Future Music competition because of it. Took me bloody ages to map out and past in all the sound like a 1960s tape style of edit but with individual sounds.

And these days in the music industry, you have loads of so-called DJs posing in front of an expensive bit of kit, either doing the Jesus pose or pretending to push and turn buttons on muted channels, while a pre-mixed 2 hour set plays in the background.
