A template for "adventure" films. Raw. Rugged. Pure. Authentic. And exceptionally entertaining film. The end credits are highly stylised something quite modern considering it was 1950. Brilliant stuff.

I think Longshanks is a good example of someone with psychopathy. He was ruthless, cruel, and power-driven. He only cared about how to control Scotland and didn't care about the Scottish people's suffering. Nonetheless good qualities for leadership.
