Ben!! Love your video. I have an 06 accord with this transmission and the problem im having is when i put it in gear it wont move. Sometimes if you rev it up slowly in gear it will grab and start rolling but most time it will just rev up in any gear. Trans was rebuilt 20k miles ago. What could be the issue? No trans codes at all. Axles are new. HELP!!!!!!! I tried replacing the filter for the cooler that everyone forgets and there isnt one in there and the spring is missing. Intermitting buzz/whine noise sound like its coming from the trans. I drained fluid and not much of anything on the drain plug.

Hey I have an 03 accord v6 and was wandering if you would know what would cause it to periodically lock up for a brief second while driving(like it’s trying to be in two gears at once) then eventually did start slipping. When I took it out I remove the filter and find that the filter had fallen apart and the pieces where logged in the banjo bolt for the filter. Have you ever seen pieces of the filter make there way to the valve body? Sorry for all the questions but I am an experienced tech but not really rebuilt any transmissions yet and it looks like you know what your doing.
@bensautorepair991418 күн бұрын
I've seen some crazy things over the years but yes I've seen them completely disintegrated usually when they do that it blocks the cooler line making 100% overheating very fast... If it feels like going in two gears at once it was starving for fluid because of the blockage usually if it gets to that point it's too late..

I have a 1986 Honda Accord LXi automatic that started slipping in 4th gear. 105K miles. Very good condition for being 38 years old. Fluid level looks okay. Also it clunks when put in to gear. Repair (cost unknown) or buy a used for $800 or buy a rebuilt for $4000?

Do you usually change the differential carrier bearings too when rebuilding these? How do you check to see if that is needed too? (Not sure if this is typically needed for Honda/Acura Automatic Transmissions)
@bensautorepair9914Ай бұрын
Most of the time I do but the last few I've done I have not as parts are getting to expensive or not able to get.. The cese bearings need to change 100% of the time as the transmission might wine at low rpm after rebuild.. Ps if the diff bearings look blue or falling out definitely bad need changed

@@bensautorepair9914 Thanks!! Last question. Do you normally have to order separate end plug kits from Sonnax for this model or are there o-rings that come in the master rebuild kit that are enough for the stock end plugs in the valve bodies?

If u put a aftermarket one on there it probably won't work. Also check all of your fuses if I remember correctly I had one that was blown under the dash on driver side.. before.. All else fails replace the engine wire harness..

@@bensautorepair9914 code it’s for torque converter. Ima changed fluid 1 time to let it blend in with old one. They called it drain n flush at Acura. They said that’s the death code of tranny, to drain n inspect for metal n burnt fluid. If there’s metal change converter if no metal just dirty fluid change 3x3 for full fluid change or once so it doesn’t affect the friction within the tranny. Rn I’m waiting on the fluid n lyk from there, also they said 99% of the time the solenoids are good if your car is shifting fine. They say a lot but it’s better to just take it slow or drive on d4 so you get no lockup in the converter
