Thanks pal! I've been trying to find out just WHERE the dipstick is in a Nissan Altima. My girlfriend had (yes, past tense- 3 guesses why, & the first 2 don't count! LOL) Usually, these sonsuvbitches are next to the firewall- Nissans have that sucker in the front.

Thanks for posting this. I have a Philips very similar to this one. It was shutting off when I put a tape in and also eating tapes. I did what you did and it seems to be working now. I hadn't used it in a few years.

I have an Aiwa NTSB / PAL Video Conversion VCR and I have attempted this turn and turn off procedure hundreds of times but it hasn't worked. I did get the machine to stay on for about twice the time it stayed on when I first started this procedure, but I seem to be at an impasse now. Any ideas?

Receiver (audio source) connects to sub out red/white. On sub connect red/white. Turn gain fully clockwise (right) to my understanding. Hope this helps. Volume will be controlled on the back of the sub.
