Phil, my goodness those chops are tight. An absolute professional.

I love this band. Managed to catch them once in the U.S. Their shows were a party!

I was studying at the Alvin Ailey school when this first came out in 1975. I was just starting out, and remember all the advanced dancers excited about auditioning for this new show that was supposed to be about dancers in an audition. As a young beginner of 17, this show was incredibly exciting! It echoed all the joys, heartbreaks, disappointments and mostly the exhilaration of being a dancer at that time. It was a special time to be a dancer in New York back then, I'm grateful I was in it! This is a wonderful reminder, thanks for posting.

That's some of the tightest, most tasteful drumming I've ever heard. Phil Gould is a true master.

It's criminal that neither of his pilot's were picked up. Thinking back to the sort of rubbish that was made then and since, I can only think there were race reasons behind the decision. Felix was easily one of the best UK comedians; period. If only things were different!

I'm so grateful to Michael Bennett (director/choreographer), Bob Avian (co-choreographer), Marvin Hamlisch (music), Edward Kleban (lyrics), James Kirkwood, Jr. and Nicholas Dante (book) and the dancers who shared their stories from which much of the script was derived, and the entire cast. What great gifts they shared with us.

Aw man... I'm not British, I only really knew him from series 5 of Absolutely Fabulous, but I thought he was a real standout there, making a big impact with relatively little screen time in a show dominated by some of the best performances in sitcom history. Really sorry to learn many years later that he died way too young.

I was there it was very bright in the audience because of the tv cameras on there it looks dark, the sound hitting your chest was amazing and it was extremely hot in there, I also saw them at the Queensway hall in Dunstable which is now a Asda unfortunately
@darylchambers59453 ай бұрын
Saw them regularly at this time, about 4 times in all. Dunstable was usually pretty good. More of a Brit Funk /Jazz Funk crowd, hence the whistles. Love Meeting Love. Good to hear that again.

Peter Piper + Rock The Bells = "Peter Piper Rock The Bells" (this title is not ironically somewhat fitting and somewhat cool)
This is my first time hearing this version. This is so much better than the album version. Incognito need to re-release this album with this mix and B-sides (along with North London Boy/Second Chance)!
