2024 - Nobody takes these risks anymore. Golden times are gone. You can only find these amazing bladders in that period in time.

Back in the day when we were all much much younger I must admit I wasn't an Aragon fan no reason just preferred other skaters, but man looking back now and looking at today's standards no one comes close! Just this eve I was looking at a few of his sections and just think no one came close to the style, the tricks and the fact he had park and street under his belt with style says it all. Respect!

Personally, I feel that, back in the day, Brian's style came under criticism for being 'too clean', 'too polished', 'too perfect' and for lacking the imperfections that gave the way other people skated 'character'. But revisiting these videos after over a decade, you can see that Brian's character is laid bare in his striving for perfection. To me, his style is more synonymous with what I might expect from an olympic athlete - A style meticulously crafted over tens of thousands of hours of self criticism and ambition; perfection, or at least, the closest he could come to it with the time he had.

Just rewatched this for the first time in years (and a ton of other old skate videos) on a nostalgia rabbit hole, and its blown my mind again, peak aragon was unmatched. Really tempted to dust the boots off and get back out there at 33 years old 😅

A fantastic idea explored beautifully in your film. I find myself in absolute sync with the sentiments of the people interviewed. I find myself ever more pessimistic about the violence & velocity with which these values are being attacked and dismantled by those who are not in sync. I hope that the 'best' of British character, can save us from the 'worst'.

4:53 As a skater from the 90s era I appreciate the intensity and emotion this scene shows...but as a veteran who has lost friends and teammates I must ask you to show a little more respect to your veterans who fought for you and your freedom to do what you love...! Sorry to say that but that's how I feel...!
@samwild2520 Жыл бұрын
200 fights!! That’s incredible!! But your job is not to change a whole culture and belief system. You are a guest that wants to learn a culture with that being said. If you are not willing to step in to the cage with a male then it’s valid for them to think that women are women and men are men. Don’t mix Muay Thay with feminism please. Cool imagery btw, it’s just the message that’s a little off

description should read: American feminist learns ancient, traditionally masculine craft, moves to ancient traditionally masculine country with traditional gender roles. Acknowledges these, complains anyway
