I'd recommend the more expensive one, to be honest. Whilst the other version does add this season's rallies, the other packs will add stages like Umea and Fafe to Sweden and Portugal, neither of which have current-day WRC stages on their roster

There's been times in EA WRC where i missed my braking point and I locked the brakes up, in snow, it came to a sudden stop. I should have been punished and sent off track. EA WRC is a simcade. What stages do you think need more love? Is it stages you are happy with in the EA WRC game?

Personally I dont think these dirtrally "tricks" are outdated. Locations with large view distances (like greece) benefited from 2D trees because they could be placed so densely at no performance cost. Where as in wrc, Greece looks nothing like real life because the trees are very sparsely placed to improve performance. Personally, I believe a racing game looks realistic through proper color grading and good textures, the 3D model complexity is barely noticeable when going 160kmh down a road

Totally agree, some good points. The far views in EA WRC are the most immersive moments for me, it's the close-to-mid distance that's the issue.

@@panayotis_dinis I'd say they're outdated in the way that it's a limitation of the Ego engine that doesn't exist to the same degree in UE. I agree with getting the balance right, but at the same time we've got more content in WRC than in DR2 and it's more storage-efficient. And that's usually one of the things that puts me off about RBR, that the graphics engine is 20 years old yet it's still over 100GB to install all the content for the top mod packs out there.

Given that the game is still retailing at £45 and it sounds like they're gonna sell all 3 packs as a bundle too, I hope it's not more than £20!

@@SpawningGroupCabhan Codemasters taking the WRC license was the best thing ever. The kyloton games were pretty much WRC 8 but with little updates. It was fun on tarmac but in general really bad compare to Dirt Rally 2.0. EA WRC is clearly a better upgrade from Dirt Rally 2.0. The change to a new engine is not easy, Dirt Rally 2.0 wasn't that great a the beginning, everybody forgets about it. I love this game, it is fun, they will keep expanding and geeting better, it can't get better, besides the anti-cheat stuff.

Imagine buying an EA product at this point. It's one of the worst companies in the world.

@@Skumtomten1 I don't know man, like I get not liking EA as an entity but I try to separate their studios from the publisher. Like I like the Mass Effect games but I praise BioWare for them.

When I tried a faster section I kept falling off the cliffs! I might try this again with Chile or CER, maybe CER as I know the stages better and I'm less prone to crashing

@@SpawningGroupCabhan I tried this Skoda pro setup for Estonia. Did even longer the gear ratio a bit further. Fantastic setup.. Which more pro folks can come up with nice setups. The most setups shown by users at EA-sport WRC homepage just sucks..

I think it's probably because they're not making it like the actual WRC, they weren't allowed to because of strict WRC licensing at the time! I was surprised when you compare it to the gravel version in the ERC

I'm not so sure that I'd agree. Lando's lost more points from mistakes or poor performance like in the China Sprint or at Spa, if he won every race from here to the end of the season and Max was 2nd it'd still be close but Hungary wasn't the deciding factor. I reckon the only way they'd regret it is if he leaves

those mistakes and poor performance they can't do anything about it. They were in control to give maximum points to Lando in Hungary. If Lando loses the championships by less than 7 points then Hungary was the biggest factor. If it were the killers -Schumacher, Senna, Vettel or Max chasing the championship leader, Mclaren wouldn't even dare. Those alpha drivers would say NO.

@@rgar218 if it comes down to less than 7 points, then the 8 points he lost relative to Piastri in Jeddah (and 21 to Max) and the 5 he lost in Shanghai's Sprint to Max and the 2 he lost to Max in Spa (and 8 relative to Piastri) are bigger than Hungary. Before the 2007 Hungarian Grand Prix, you could argue that McLaren was able to manage Hamilton and Alonso well and they followed each other home on different occasions for the sake of the team. They managed Lewis and Jenson for 3 years to a degree, and even more recent pairings like Carlos and Lando were well-managed. The teams usually care more about the Constructors' title than the Drivers' title, because that's what pays at the end of the day. You can see that when Max, who you've called an "alpha" and said would refuse to play to team orders, followed Checo home as per the team's request in Jeddah and Baku last year, where they were comfortably in front like McLaren was in Hungary and they knew they just needed to bring the car home and abide by the agreement that they'd make before the race. Whilst you may think that McLaren not being able to manage Lando losing points means that they should've let him win Hungary to make up for it, I'd disagree. If he were a realistic title contender, he wouldn't have then gone on to have the weekend he did in Spa. Lando qualified 4th, Oscar 5th, and Max 11th. Lando finished 5th, Oscar 2nd, and Max 4th. That's why I think that, if there was any way that McLaren could possibly regret doing what they did in Hungary, the only way that McLaren could regret it is if Lando leaves as a result of it.

Assetto looks great for sure, but ACC doesn't have Le Mans and I didn't want to use the AC one as it's a mod whereas the other ones are official

They all look amazing in different ways. That's what makes it so hard to tell from a graphics persepective! That's why it comes down to the driving feeling for me in the end

I believe the plan is to have the US in for 2026! Hopefully it'll have a candidate event next year
