I have this fault on my 1.4 turbo GTC and the mechanic replaced the cover like you pointed out but the fault has come back. They advise me they have smoke tested twice and there are no visible leaks. They also told me that the EVAP valve wasn’t bad. He can’t figure out what’s causing the problem. No idea what to do next.

I have tried this on my car and I have no vacuum at all, I have oil in my cylinder, is this likely the cause??
@Sizifus Жыл бұрын
It's such a bs engineering decision to integrate these cheap parts into a god damn valve cover and intake manifold. Vacuum valve costs like 5 euros and that membrane probably costs cents on its own, but what you've got is a fix that probably will cost 500 euros, because of the shit you got to change... Unbelievable... People, be smart, do some in-depth research before buying a car, because sure as shit, I wasn't.

An alternative procedure is to look down the tube where the hose is connected, and if you see an orange nipple down below, it tells you that the valve is still in place and is working.

hi I would like to know how you connected the throttle cable and what did you do to get the transmission make to shift did you use the tps sensor and how? , could you make a video and explain better that thanks
@danthecarman84403 жыл бұрын
Hi Rafael. Yes I will do a proper video soon and will will hopefully have a bigger turbo installed too. The transmission won't work with out the edc pump as it uses the rack position sensor. What I did was I brought a stand alone ecu. I still kept the tps though for the transmission to know accelerator position.
@rafaelbrea67433 жыл бұрын
@@danthecarman8440 Thank you very much for answering What kind of tcu alone do you use (off gear controller) from Arduino, what I was thinking was to run a throttle cable from the Original TPS mount to the mechanical injection pump and leave the EDC pump connected resting on the side and see how the car respond , What Do You Think About That Thank You

Hi, I've got an astra j in at the moment. How much vacuum should be created when you suck? I can blow air in quite freely and I can suck air out but with slightly more resistance. Should just be able to suck any air out? Thanks
@danthecarman84403 жыл бұрын
The one way valve you are testing for vacum should at least hold a good amount of vacum. Exactly how much is hard to say but normally the valve just falls out and you get no vacum at all on sucking through and it should hold the vacum. Hope that helps.
@tinkeringwithcars38753 жыл бұрын
@@danthecarman8440 thanks Dan. I can suck air through and not much of a vacuum but there is definitely a bit of of vacuum there. Trouble is a i havent got a known good 1 to compare it to.

Hi Matthew I have found it good so far and it's running on a stock turbo at 1.5 bar but I'm upgrading it soon to a hx35. I also have a stand-alone ecu for the transmission as it won't work with out the edc pump.
