Whoever arranged this is brilliant and brought back what Handel had to conceal during his lifetime: his own Jewish heritage (His father was a Jewish convert to Lutheranism, and Handel himself was a Jewish believer in Jesus). Many of the other arrangements of this piece tend to either entirely obscure or to some extent miss both the very-Jewish quality in the music, and I’m sure that Handel (of blessed memory) would be thrilled to know that our hope of now-over 2000 years wasn’t completely lost-even when we scattered among the nations and (both among our people and among the gentiles) persecuted because we were called to believe in the Holy One of Israel and the Only Son of God the Father.

@@NicoleCzarnecki I was the Sax player in this video and you've made a very interesting observation. I had not thought of the " Jewishness" of this arrangement when I played it, nor did I intend to play it to sound that way, but now that you've brought that up you are correct. The inflections and trills I used were not written in the music but I added that myself which gives it a more "Jewish" sound but I never thought of that when playing this piece. I'm not Jewish ( raised Catholic then born again later) but I've played hundreds of Jewish weddings and bar mitzvahs over the years...Thank you for your astute observation.
@NicoleCzarneckiАй бұрын
@ , you’re welcome, and thank you. The reason that I was able to notice that is that I actually found out that I am a Jewish believer in Jesus in 2008. Things that honestly would’ve never occurred to me before occurred to me. When I found out that Hondo himself was a Jewish believer, it actually made it easier to relate in many ways. I can imagine it was not easy for him, and the persecution that he has received posthumously really has to not be easy on what heirs he does have.

Same thing happened to me. Funny thing about it though it]] is not funny, the Bible says we have sins that easily beset us .we’ve all sinned and come short of the glory of God, so where does that leave them? I know they’re not Jesus, they’re not sinless. One thing for sure their sins aren’t being answered. God says you don’t forgive people your sins won’t be forgiven.
