@@bbrother92 Imagine visualizing your sound. You can graph it in plenty of ways, using variables like time, frequency and energy. In this scenario you'd see what is happening to the sound receiving device as sound is inputted in its bands. Now imagine using math to twist and turn this image, limit it at places, enhance it at others. Some functions are designed to emulate reverb, others enhance bass, etc.

thank you!! i put all of my abstractions here: github.com/michaelpace/pd-core and i put the sketches that use them here: github.com/michaelpace/pd-sketches this sketch for instance is github.com/michaelpace/pd-sketches/blob/main/129-doubledfamtests.pd i change it all pretty often though, and a lot of earlier sketches no longer work because i've made breaking changes in abstractions they depend on. [swarm~] is brand new and will definitely be changing a lot over the next couple of weeks as i iron out the kinks. but yeah it's all there in those repos pretty much!

I don't know enough of the things in the description to be impressed in that way but purely sonically this sounds nice. Reminds me of the experimentation with the very very first synths like the airplane radar signalling equipment or whatever. neat
