For me, Samye Ling is one of the most beautiful places - stunning! I visited Samye Ling several times during the 70s and 80s. But it wasn't until the 15th of April 2006 that I took refuge from Karma Lodro Thaye - in other words, I officially became a Buddhist!

Another interesting Video, Rob. There certainly were a lot of abandoned farmhouses. Is that because of the Harsh winter conditions?👍👍

Bill most of the building material here is wood - and given they were built back in the early 1900's - I think they have had there life - in Scotland is mostly stone and last forever - hope you are well - hear you got some white stuff also!

Rob this was superb. It was like watching a natural history docu. I was expecting David Attenborough to do a wee narrative. Seriously stunning images. You captured the eagles in particular brilliantly. The church is something very special. You captured one last bird that you didn't maybe see at first....a Pheonix from the flames. Quite a creature to see. Amazing sir. Class act. Thanks for sharing. Speak soon 👍😀👍🥾🥾🎒🥃🥃

@T.robPrairie Time to hunker down and get the skies on to go to the shops lol. I bet your roads and infrastructure are prepared for the snow. April is a while to wait for it to clear. It would start grating on me after the first week or two lol. Every time you left the house you would look like Scott of the Antarctic. Lotsbof snowman building though ahahah. Really enjoyed this video. Speak soon 👍😀👍🥾🥾❄️❄️🥃🥃🥃🥃

I ran a thirty mile trap line as a teenager. Taking muskrat, beaver and mink. I have been to two rendezvous with the Hudson bay Company. History isn't as remote as you think. Also about that gatlin gun. It was a prototype made by an American inventor. At the time they couldn't find anyone to shoot at in the States so he brought it up to Canada because the Mounties were having trouble with the Native Americans and the French trappers over the land grab. The Natives and trappers were too good at defending prepared positions. The gun allowed the Mounties to mow them done and obliterate those positions. The fight was soon over and the land grab concluded.

Rob this was brilliant. What a magical thing to have done and put together. As the others have said this should be something people do more to preserve stories and heritage of family.. Great photos. I'll need to check now as to what number in Earl Street one of my grandparents stayed at. Could have been a next door neighbour. Some really great moments in this and did chuckle when she was talking about how much you all made on the paper rounds and when the young lad moved from Judo to football there was a point of the finger and then she looked happy when he went back into Judo again. It was subtle but quite funny lol Thanks sir for sharing this with us. Speak soon and happy hiking as always 👍😀🥾🥾🎒🥃🥃🥃🥃

"Cheers Rob!" This is brilliant. We should all make one of these. I wish I had. I recognised the shot of Mugdock park! The zoo was long before I ever went there with students from Clydebank College (Kilbowie Road at that time) in the 80s (I started working there 78). Ena Williamson is one of my friends who also worked there. You and Nancy have created something special and valuable for the future. Well done Rob. All the best...Terry
