In the actual practice of the pump, the shaft is not allowed to heat up completely to make the setting, at least in what I know, the assembly is coupled when already cold and with the shaft down it does not allow coupling to the motor because it is too long, removing 70 mm of length from the last section of the shaft, the assembly can be attached and once hot the final setting can be redone since the expansion is estimated to be 10-15 mm X meter.

Hi everybody We have virtical condensate extraction pumps in our power plant. API 13 in combination with API 32 are used for supporting the mechanical seal of the pumps. There is a problem on the sealing lines (API 32) on the both pumps, the check valve allows backflow through it, so water flow from seal chamber of the running condensate pump to the seal chamber of the SB pump. What is the reason of the two check valves are damaged? What is the effect of the problem on the running pump and the SB pump?
