Love your talk..this coming from a senior reemerging artist..the real art market today is a dog day for artists, it's more like running a marathon race, trying to get in the front, where your blood, sweat, and tears, is just a commodity, unfortunately..

While I appreciate the words said in this video, I think the title of the video is wrong, it should be, "how to present your work online", which is very different than how to talk about one's work!

Took me 8 years almost, but went from painter to producer and opened an online art sales platform and now collaborate on artistic projects with many of the largest institutions in my country. Turned out painting wasnt as interesting for me as making art happen but Im saying you can do a lot if you put your mind to it:)

Question. How do I market my art without “cheapening” it. I feel like posting often on social media often will undermine the luxuriousness and rarity of high art. Open to any ideas, thanks

Actually a lot of really great artists in my country post their work on Instagram and have had success in selling their works (3-5k paintings) on IG. So I think IG in particular is great for marketing and does not really feel like it would cheapen the experience in any way. People use Instagram to try to decide if they want to go on holliday to Bora Bora, because their friends whent there, so why not make an art purchase the same way. :)

For me it was either hands on goong to openings and getting to know the people involved, this works best i believe, or se ding out cold calls and emails, dms and tags but this usually dosnt get the attention obe would like. Try getting to know anyone who works there or just casually talk to people in the wider field, eventually one person knows another and if you turn up a lot they will start to notice you and after a while you have a better chance of trying to persuade them into showi g your work, best though if another artist recomends you, this is usually how you get a show:)

I fully agree. Much of what is discussed about well more or less any problems we are facing tends to underemphasise the importance of a strong middle ground between views.

Thank you so much for this video and your channel. I used to think that I am "idealistic" and my art will eventually find the audience if it will be good, but I guess it was just me being in a denial about the hard work it takes to make it visible. But now thinking about the context that such presentation can give, I look at it as a futher stage of creating.
@SurvivingArt

You are most welcome! Context is king/queen for sure! And it sound as if you have a really good perspective on the idea of the spectator/consumer of your work, as it is really a world of possibilities and questions regarding the interpretations and relations that other people appart for us who made the work actually form when in contact, and especially when being given the option to make first contact! That's a reason why I really love sincere marketing, it's a beutiful artform if done right!

Your littlenoised voice is kind of comfortably funny, and you kind of look vaguely as a slovenian DiCaprio. but whatever. Very good project, particularly because everything that you base on is totally useful and finally somebody that gives me the pitch of notions that I kind of need. Hope to meet you someday, there's one place in Italy, near slovenia that you should check out

Hi! It's nice to see a business-art person. I had done a MBA after graduating from art school, and I create content for artists with business language. It's hard to get business ideas into the minds of creative professionals. Keep making more videos!

@@VeryPrivateGallery I'm actually from Slovenia, so running costs are 400e + about 50e insurance, so I get that. Not sure how it is in your country though, but I'm sure all of them have at least some option for cultural workers, here for example you can get a special status where the government pays for everything except additional health insurance which is about 35e, and it's not that hard to get so quite a lot of people apply. For now a model that has been working great for me and others here is EU and national call for tenders, that's what I have been currently living off for the past 2 years and albeit I'm not sure what the coming crisis will bring, I'm sure a slight adjustment could still fund most of ones expenses and work arrangements in the EU? But i get a few smaller countries like ours can be a pin in the ass regarding working in the arts.
