He spent a few minutes talking about lung function, then an hour venting about why he had to be loud with his patients, how he lived in his car and didn't eat, and went on a rant about paying the bills because someone asked what they should do if they can't afford the program. And about how doctors and RTs do not know as much as him. Even had to get out the textbook. Was very condescending toward patients and viewers. Relax brother. Why are you wound so tight because new patients don't know what they don't know?

I’m sorry you felt that way Paul, but I never said that I was better than other doctors or other retreated Just a lack of education when it comes to something so simple from pulse ox symmetry, pony function, test, how doctors don’t really explain the pulmonary function test to their patients I just want the healthcare system to be better and I think we all can agree with that

I'm confident that asthma is when the blood gets thick and the heart can't push the blood making it so the lungs don't get the adequate amount of blood I'm also confident if you made a needle to change blood temperature that the blood would become more liquid and go to the lungs at the rate that it was supposed to and and the reason why I'm so confident that a needle to change blood temperature would make the blood more liquid and send it to the lungs at the rate it's supposed to is because they are refusing to make a needle to change blood temperature and a needle to change blood temperature is only a needle that takes blood puts it over heater and puts it back inside of your blood at a different temperature so for them to refuse such a simple thing is saying that they are obviously withholding the needle to change blood temperature Obviously they're refusing us a needle to change blood temperature to make us suffer In addition to this I just searched if an anticoagulant would reduce asthma and without me even knowing the answer was obviously yes Yes, some anticoagulants, like heparin, can help reduce asthma symptoms: Inhaled heparin Can reduce the early response to allergens and exercise-induced asthma. Heparin can inhibit the release of mediators from mast cells, which may be involved in exercise-induced asthma. Heparin also has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and mucolytic effects. So if I can make a blind assessment that an anticoagulant would reduce asthma then the needle to change blood temperature will do the same thing

I don’t agree going to the gym doesn’t work. I’m six weeks getting over a flare up and viral infection, (the rescue emergency pack ( steroids and antibiotics UK) didn’t work as it only helps with a bacterial infection), and not been able to do anything at all including exercise and my fitness level including my immune system have deteriorated badly. But normally I get to the gym three days a week working cardio which strengthens my lung and heart response and, even on the weight machines, deepen my breathing. It’s important not to overdo it and rest is very important but, for me, it makes the difference between fighting and controlling COPD or my life being controlled by it.

My mother died recently at end-stage COPD [11/13/24 79 y.o.] and had a DNR, but they are not quite written in stone. She tripped at home and broke her femur and successfully was operated on. However, after a few days she suddenly went downhill and ended up fighting for her life. At one point the doctors presented her with a last ditch treatment plan and she agreed to it, but eventually succumbed to COPD. COPD - at the end - basically "bombs your body" since all your vital organs and immune system needs the vital oxygen to keep the cells running optimally. Hence, when things start going wrong, everything goes wrong all at once. Yea, the end sucks bad with COPD. Never smoke.

The hospital nurses keep changing my husbands oxygen from 2 up to 10 or 8 for hours even with out checking his levels. then dropping it back down, driving me crazy and they have him on dexemethasone high dosage well now for months when originally only 10 days, although another doctor keeps him on it. H has alot of side effects yet they still keep him on it. original dr put him on to help when he starts radiation on his brain for 10 days yet he was too weak to have the radiation he now is so weak he can/t move his legs or bend his knees. And now we are able to get him home but they put him on hospice now, i am just about to lose my mind. he has copd for years, along with other med problems. now today they removed all iv's and machines and now tonight he looks better and feels better. I just don't understand why they slowly weening him off then another dr. put him back to high level again.

Does snyone know if taking Guiafenisen (sp)?, brand name Mucinex, advised? I find it helpful with staying hydrated & thinning the mucous, allowing me to cough it up more easily. Also, when I got Covid, I used an incentive spirometer to help clear mucous & exercise my lungs. NOT easy but it's a cheap device, (or you have one from being in the hospital), and you can get better at it with practice.
@cetkatАй бұрын
Yes, and yes! You're exactly right about the benefits and method of action. I grew up with chronic bronchitis and sinusitis. Had an ENT as my primary care for years. Taking Mucinex daily is highly supported in their field. I go with the 1200mg personally. Just make sure it's the regular Mucinex and not the DM. FYI, additionally Cough syrup with codeine is actually just Mucinex and codeine mixed together. Codeine works as a cough suppressant and doesn't work as a pain med without the acetaminophen/Tylenol or Nsaid (ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin). Google medication interaction checker and input everything you take. It'll tell you about any potential interactions. You can ask a pharmacist for any clarification, they know more about medication interactions than doctors. Given that Mucinex isn't a prescription med, they should be fine with advising you on timing and dose

Also lack of o2 and build up Of carbon kills other organs.
@cskiles3182 ай бұрын
Updating my comments for my husband. He got 2.4 years. In the end the disease (lack of o2 and carbon buildup) damaged his other organs. So unreal how fast it went. Just by blood work. Dr said end stage mid August. He was gone by end of September. Not to scare anyone. They are all differnt. With my own research i discovered that. And most info you find on a persons journey. You don’t get the end. My husband was a very healthy strong active 77 year old when diagnosed. I miss him So. My hind sight of things that might have helped more. Is follow Dr instructions. He was so depressed with the diagnosis and the oxygen. It just don’t seem real. He wanted to die at home. We did that for him. But I also have read most die in hospital they can manage it better. 😢

This is only half the story. What about the O2 level in my blood. I can't walk to the bathroom too quickly or my O2 drops to 85% or less, and my pulse rate gets to 130. I'm 77. How long can I stay at that level before starting to kill cells?

She aspirated and was intubated for 24 hours. She is now in a standard room. I am hoping she can while still able to make decisions for herself signed a DNR and DNI . Any input would help.
