honestly i ditched my older magnetic HDD's the big ones, you can get something called a USB enclosure and plug them in whenever you need. it also preserves them further in the long run(since they are not always plugged in and running). only using NVME SSDs now, great build btw

Great build, I've just built my PC using the same GIGABYTE motherboard. Kind of thinking I should've went with ASRock X870E Nova instead, because the 6-layer PCB doesn't allow enough signal isolation to overclock the RAM speed. Besides that it's been great, enjoy! Will the Corsair LX120 icue fit in here? I ordered the y70 built from Ibuypower but I don't think it comes with bottom fan ( I might be mistaken). Thanks.

Yea it should be fine since the fan I put is actually 120mm x 27mm thick (ekwb loop fans). The corsair lx120 looks to be only 25mm thick in comparison. So your fans would be the same size but a little skinnier. 👍

Keep trying to wiggle it off gently while you pry on every side. I cut a lot of it out but I was actually struggling to pry the top part off too.

What vinyl wrap did you use? has it started to come off because of the heat of the gpu? i’m trying to do this with me 3090 founders edition but don’t want the vinyl to melt and destroy it

I used an Oracal vinyl and bought it from Amazon. No, it has not melted nor distorted on my 3080.

How hard was the disassembly of the 3080 to wrap the backplate?

No disassembly required. The whole process is pretty easy. It's basically like a sticker except if you want it as close to perfect as possible, you'll have to spend maybe half an hour on it.

@@dr-elite4272 Hi! I didn't use a heat gun since I wanted to be on the safe side in the case it could damage the GPU. And honestly, it's not necessary. Just make sure you apply the vinyl as tight as you can. Thanks for viewing! :)

It's been great for my lil sis! Plays all the games I listed pretty well. Genshin Impact has to be on the lowest settings though. Other than that, she hasn't reported any slowness for everything else she uses it for. She even has one or two apps running in the background while playing sometimes. Have fun!

@@obifosho I know the pain... I recommend following ATR Stonks Discord server if you haven't already. That's how I was able to get mine from Best Buy. They're quick and give great tips on how to get one.

Thank you! I watched this tutorial kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWrRYqeVnZJ2rpo and just applied the same technique for my PC parts. I practiced first on my fans and then the tempered glass. By the time I had to do the 3080, I had a little more experience. It's pretty easy! You can do it too. :)
