I didn't know the second film ever made was G. Jim Corbett's ass. It made thirty grand and I'm guessing most viewers weren't paying attention to the fight.

John L. Sullivan was a crude clubber, a bum who'd be destroyed by a modern club fighter...say many guys who've never fought in their lives and never seen one second of John L. on film

DLH was well spoken, polite and educated. Never said anything bad about his opponent and was always always a good sportsmanship after a fight. The only fighter Ive ever seen being marketed with Budweiser, METRX and McDonalds. He was a beast brother.

De Lahoya Is what you call a Chunt or Chunti in the Mexican Community. He can look like he knows English but he can also stare at you with a blank expression and pretend he doesn't know English. But he has to work hard because he's 2nd generation by the 3rd generation all bets are off.

God how violent. It must be so painful. I don't understand why people (males) can watch a guy get pummeled. Organized violence.

King is a degenerate animal. He hurt a lot of people and his black ass is a joke. He’s going to get his. What’s sickening is that any athlete decided to let King promote them. They had to have known that they would get ripped off given the fact that he was convicted of murder and that he did business with the mafia. Common sense automatically tells you not to do business with a guy like that. This is why some people say that athletes are morons. They screw up in school or think that they can just do what they want. Then they do stuff like this. I don’t want to hear that King had all of the heavyweights and that you had to go through him because that’s not true. I’m pretty sure Roy Jones Jr. didn’t get promoted by King and neither did Chris Byrd. There were boxers like Hearns and Hagler that made huge amounts of money that didn’t go with King. They weren’t heavyweights but still did it without him. If those guys could do it then the heavyweights could’ve done it. Weight class is no excuse to go with a promoter like that. You’re better off taking honest money, even if it’s less than getting paid more but getting ripped off. That’s common sense. I’ll say this: Based on what I’ve heard about his past and how he treated people, there’ll be a huge party and bonfire when he drops dead. He’s the African American version of Adolf Hitler.

Bay turning down an opportunity to fight for a world title in South Africa and loosing out on a 800.000 dollar purse , of which he probably only would have seen a hundred thousand anyway , speaks well for Bay. He turned it down because of south Africa's policies of apartheid . Well, there was honor in that, but Bay never got a shot at any title again, and lost the only chance he ever had, to make a fair amount of money . Bays career was resigned to the dustbin after that and became on of boxing's many unknowns . I think for all Bays good honorable intentions or principles , it was a dumb move , for he denied himself the only crack at a world title he ever got.

Duran is boxing royalty. No Mas would have been the end for any other boxer. He couldn’t even jog in public while first training to come back. Yet willed himself and to leave no doubt that Moore was a fluke, treated us to his humble greatness against Barkley. I mean how can you not love and admire him.

Boxing is not hereditary, nor is the talent for philosophy. As a rule, the children of great philosophers are never significant philosophers. Like any documentary, it is absolutely unrealistic! It is the perception (of society, culture, politics, sports, values, etc.) of the one who creates the film. Cristhian Martinez is an average boxer today.
Wouldn’t want to be blinded by gentleman Jim at 0:51 that’s a dirty move if I say so myself

Don might be a sleaze ball but he’s a smart and very rich sleaze ball. Unfortunately most fighters are very business smart and are easy pickings for people like Don King.

Granite chin, power , boxing skills. Quick hands and feet. He had it all. Sledge Hammer power. 2nd greatest hitter after Shavers. He just didn't have a warrior heart. Ali exposed that.
