Ray Parker Jr took a woman needs love and created another song from that song. It’s pure genius.

Ray Parker Jr came from the Motown school. Berry Gordy would put a song on one artist and if it didn’t become a hit on one artist he would find another artist on the same label to do the same song which is the same story of Papa was Rolling Stone which was done by another artist before the Temptations-there were several versions of I heard it through the grapevine Gladys Knight and Marvin Gaye. Diana Ross had her version with the Supremes of ain’t no mountain high enough.

New Edition did not remake this song no disrespect to them at all I remember watching a interview with Junior Tucker he said the record labels back then were/are shady again no disrespect to all members of New Edition they had no idea it was Junior Tucker song

Great in any era. Perfect delivery. His R&B talent should have been developed more. Water under the bridge.. Nice bridge in this (pun intended). Song swims around in your head like a great memory round and round in a loop.
