The actual scripture was written by the Apostle Paul, and it really says "I would rather be absent from the body and present with the Lord, but it is more needful for you, that I remain with you". I believe that was in Second Thessalonians but this is one of the most Misused scriptures in the Holy Bible. Nowhere, does it ever say "To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord". That is just not in the Bible.

Well if we believe what God has revealed to living prophets on this dispensation we know that heaven will be located on this earth after the earth becomes a celestialized abode for exalted families. All inhabitants will be married by one having authority from Jesus Christ on this earth. Families who have been true and faithful will live together forever as families.

I don’t think anything is going to keep factions of Christians from using their relationship with Christ as an excuse to belittle others, and i think part of it is coming from what you are speaking on. Maybe not exactly but I have a feeling if they stopped looking at it like this maybe they’d act a bit more humbly.

You definitely need to delve into scripture more. This is from Revelations 1. “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. 19Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this. 20The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.

Jesus literally says, I am the First and the Last. He lives, and was dead, and behold, he is alive forevermore. First and last/Alpha and Omega. Are terms used to describe the father all through scripture. Think about it. He came, he lived the perfect life without sin. Doing the Fathers will. And the Father glorified him. He is risen. His Glory will be known when he returns.

No bad places? How about the genocide, infanticide, slavery, human sacrifice, rape, incest? And that is just in the first 5 books….wow. The only redeeming factor is that we know it isn’t true - it was Bronze Age book written hundreds of years after what it describes (0ld Testament) and then New Testament is written at least 30-40 years after…….it is riddled with inaccuracies and patch work from other sources and describes a religion and a thug god full of hate. It is no wonder Christians nowadays behave the way they do - their god showed them in the book. And of course let’s not forget the clergy from the Catholic and Southern Baptist churches that sexually assaulted all those children- yet Christians won’t hold their god accountable.

Every thing that is written in the New Testament is meaningless without the context of the Old Testament. The entire New Testament is just one big set of callbacks to previous books. Even understanding what His sacrifice Means is impossible without know about the blood sacrifices previously used. Modern Christianity is lost because 99% only read a few pages from the New Testament. That's where we get the Episcopalian church ordaining openly gay female Bishops.

And here again is another Christian that hasn’t read the Bible going after gay people…….I know, there’s a verse in Leviticus that you interpret as “god” saying being gay is wrong. Yet - forget that the same book states that growing two different crops together is punishable by death - or wearing clothes of two different types…..even tattoos are evil. And did you know the “10 Commandments” are listed several times - what about lying? Adultery? Yet just look at the politicians Christians elect. Look at how Christians behave. And I haven’t read anywhere where a gay episcopal female bishop raping anyone - but there are thousands raped by the Catholics, Evangelicals, and Baptists. here’s a verse for you…. Matthew 7:3 “And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?”

I could not agree more. Moving away from the prayers of petition and intercession that seem to make up a lot of prayers and moving more toward prayers of adoration and thanksgiving and confession and discernment is a move toward trusting in God and an understanding that He doesn't need to follow our plan. We need to follow His. It's like if one person has perfect vision and they are driving a car and another is almost blind and can only see what is right infront of them is riding with them. Why would the nearly blind person keep trying to tell the seeing person driving instructions.
