@@therayshow1919 Its still awful looking terrible fashion sense. And they are too young. If they want to care about fashion at that age fine but show them some guidance. It looks TERRIBLE onstage. It shows the people running these schools have no idea about costume design or stage craft tbh and it lets them down over all. Its GOBSMACKINGLY awful. There are still people making beautiful Irish dance costumes out there ...sadly not here. If young girls wish to wear make up fine. But don't wear crappy make up that brings down the art.And try and produce some kind of standard ...i would ban bad stage make up and all the terrible cheap wigs. If you want to do something do it right. Ballet dancers wear heaps of make up ...but they do it well.

No offense to the girls at all they are all stunning and the boys.

It's gawdy and ridiculous. I just started my little girl in Irish dancing, but we're not participating in this mess.

Well people kind go crazy on there dresses mostly dancers in the U.K

theres a branch of irish dancing called festival irish dancing. if youre looking for more plain and simple looking dancers, you might enjoy it (shameless festival dancing promo)

My favorite part is that kids get marked down for being too pale. At an Irish dance contest.
