My Doctor told me I qualify for a GLP-1. Im about 25-30 lbs overweight. Due to the lack of good /caring doctors, she’s taking her time prescribing this. I’ve had my blood work done and the office is making me wait 1 month to find out the results and how she will be helping me,’which she was sure she could do. My menopausal weight gain has had extreme adverse affects on me. I don’t even want to leave my home, furthermore I’m suffering from extreme hot flashes and I don’t think I’ve slept well in years. I exercise often, mostly hiking, I believe I don’t eat that badly. Only problem is late night eating because I don’t sleep. My question Is this. I know that if I can’t lose weight, I will not be happy. I know this about myself. When I’m comfortable in my body, I’m more comfortable socializing. Im alone and have been for years. I have extremely dark thoughts and feel hopeless. Aging is not going well. Im close to ordering online and paying the ridiculously expensive price. I don’t trust going through some random company. Are these companies real? Im afraid of side effects and I’m a smoker. Please advise.

What is the micro dose recommended to start with?
@ginabinawina12 күн бұрын
I think that's going to be individualized. The typical titration tirz is 2.5 then 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5 etc So go lower and even slower than that.

Agree …somewhat … If you have a project, are doing new things that you did not have time to do before , if you look up friends then retirement is the start of a new life !

We only discovered Jet Lag when we invented the Jet Airliner, which means the sleepiness/drowsiness is the result of our biological sleep cycle disruption/adjusting/adapting to fast changing [Latitudinal] Position on the surface of the Earth, and it is not the result the luminosity of [just any full spectrum] light, in my opinion, and thanks for your video.

Dr. Sandi, great discussion on how the circadian rhythm affects many aspects of our life and how those aspects double back to affect our natural rhythm. I'm familiar with Dr. Panda's work on how exposure to light, eating cycles, and exposure to darkness affect our body, and loved the additional insight Dr. Minich brought to the field.

Thanks, Dr. Sandi! I love all your 6 Pro-aging points. I read Dr. Gabrielle Lyon's Forever Strong book just before I was introduced to FMCA and experienced the power of resistance training and protein together. It started to transform my life. In addition to fighting sarcopenia, protein is essential for proper wound-healing and recovery from disease.

What an inspiring and courageous story about overcoming depression! I love how Ms. Covelli was not willing to accept her depression as "treatment-resistant"! There is so much that we as health coaches do that can move clients away from depression to better health outcomes, starting with dealing with our clients in a compassionate manner to motivating them to make changes in their nutrition, movement, sleep, and more.

Interesting discussion of the microbiome. As a father, I found it interesting that the father's microbiome can, in part, correct for deficiencies that the mother may have and pass the correct microbes to children.

Im 48 and have been having peri menopause symptoms for almost a year. Thus far I’ve had 3 OBGYNs tell me HRT isn’t for me 😢. I’m in California and the doctors seem to think all women’s bodies are the same because I’m not 50 so the symptoms I’m having are all in my mind. I’m truly suffering

Thanks for this episode Dr. Sandy! I love the comparison of the different RCT groups and the potential for health coaching to have positive impact on mood and behavior expressed by this study! It's one of the reasons I wanted to become a health coach myself is I saw the power of movement and improved nutrition on my own mood and outlook. When you add in the positive psychology aspects into the mix I think we can see real change throughout the spectrum of health.

I'm inspired! I've been desiring to become a FM Health Coach for years because I've been healed through eating real food and I want to share and support the healing with others, but I cannot afford the program. This scholarship gives hope! Shavonne, you are an empowered woman and healer!!! Congratulations! I'm going for it too! Thank you!

I really liked how Dr. Price related how health coaches can be an alternative to other forms of counseling or therapy for those in other fields of the health care profession, and her positive experience in her personal life.

I loved the discussion here of using the health coach as the concierge or receptionist for the health care team to help clints navigate and find their direction to where they want to take their health. This is an intriguing aspect to the collaborative care team and emphasizes the need of the health coach to remain connected to a diverse team of people.

I loved hearing Janie's story about becoming a health coach and marrying it with her nursing background. Like many people in my cohort we all have skills and abilities we bring to the table and the emphasis on collaboration is a recurring theme I see time and again in this program.

I was very touched and inspired by the discussions around seniors at assisted living communities. My grandmother was in assisted care for almost 10 years and my mother is likely to need that same kind of care. My grandmother passed in care from cancer and I think her passing was not pleasant despite what the doctors say. I certainly do not want something similar for my mom. I think having health coaches with real empathy who are interested in their patients and provide the compassion these seniors need can go a long way to improving their quality of life and healthspan.

You can’t compare estrogen deficiency due to natural menopause to thyroxine deficiency which is a disease. Women are not supposed to be fertile after 50. So what’s the argument of replacing those hormones when they naturally drop with age? With that same reasoning then we should go back to looking like 20 years olds… while we’re not meant to!
