Biggest mistake we made in 98 was letting him do a San Diego trail scene spot check. It aired on national television and in 2 weeks the San Diego trail scene was gone. Places where the trails were, the land owners and the home owners around the trails didn’t want all the bike traffic and the liability. Until then the trails were still kind of low key. But after that aired, they all got plowed.

I used to watch this clip all the time, again and again, like 25 years ago on videotape when it had just come out. Wasn't that cheap to purchase it back in the day. But what a surprise to find it here again on KZbin... brilliant!

When I was giving a GT for my first bmx bike. All chrome. Badass. This video came with it. I studied it religiously. Then I went to my friends house left my bike in the front yard ten min later it was gone. I’ll never forget how much courage I had to come up with to tell my dad 😂

I know this comment is many years late and will most likely never reach Trevor but in case it does I wanted to tell him hello. And I met him back in around the year 2000 at the star of Texas rodeo in Austin Texas. I doubt he will remember it but I was working in a concession trailer that was set up about a hundred yards away from where the GT team that he was riding with at the time had their stunt show set up. After each show he would ride down to my concession trailer and I would give him free food because to me he was the greatest celebrity I've ever met in my life. The man was an X Games gold medalist multiple times he was a legendary BMX flatlander and I followed BMX for most of my childhood and he was like a hero to me. He was such a gentleman and such a nice genuine guy. He sure did love corn dogs. The man could eat like 4 corn dogs at a time and we're not talking little corn dogs we're talking the jumbo corn dogs and he loved the lemonade that my stand made. I got in some trouble from my boss for giving him food but I didn't care I was feeding a celebrity and in my mind the man was basically a BMX hero. He autographed a shirt for me and I kept that shirt for a while but because I moved around a lot back then I lost it and it was very depressing to me to lose that shirt I held that shirt so dear and it may as well have been Michael Jordan signature on a rookie card to me because it meant the world to me. If he only knew how special it was for him to be so friendly and entertain conversation with a wet-behind-the-ears 19 year old kid from Texas working a summer job trying to make some money. He even brought me up to the course that they had set up because I told him I always wanted to ride BMX so he brought me up to the ramps and let me ride his bike around on the course. It was like living a dream I was hanging out with an X Games gold medalist riding a $1,000 frame bicycle getting tutored buy a king of BMX flatlander. I was in heaven. It was one of the greatest points of my young adult life. And everytime I hear someone mention BMX or the X Games my brain immediately goes to mr. Trevor Meyer. I hope he is doing well and staying covid-19 free and I hope he is still riding his bicycle. I'm now about to turn 40 years old and I still remember my great day with such a true gentleman and such a rockstar. It's been 21 years almost and I still remember it as if it were yesterday. So mr. Trevor Meyer if you ever see this thank you very much for making a kid's dream come true I don't know if you realized it or not when you did it but you made one of my dreams come true.

I used to race and hit the trails back in the 80’s /90’s. It seems like we had so much more fun on our bikes back then than in the year 2020, with bmx now being super professional and corporate companies like Red Bull involved. I miss the old days...
