I loved those slabbed 1052s. Fun to ride and fun to work on. I owned a red/black 87 with added white 1988 18" j wheels. Beast.

Your uncle was a good man. I appreciated his fellowship. When I got it back on the road, he came to see it and drive it at the Carlisle import show. He was pleased. I wish I knew where it was today.

The slabside remains a special engine, you hang in it. The raw power is surprising. Already today the third copy of 87 is still in possession. Am still in love with it.

That ugly massive bumpers make look the car like a locomotive. I had a wine red metallic one here in Germany with the original bumpers. I took the front bumper off and installed a front spoiler instead.

I still regret selling my 1100J it’s still the best bike I ever owned and nothing will come close to that raw balls out power and uncluttered simple functionality. Modern bike geometry is amazing but the Suzuki “king of the beasts” reigns supreme in my eyes.

This was my car from 2001 to 2007. I bought it from the original owner and was forced to sell it when I left the country. BTW...no modifications were needed to fit the OEM center caps to the Libre wheels. They fit like they were made for it!! Any question?? I know the full history of this car. (except I don't know where it is today)

Omg! Look at those horrible US spec bumpers..... Wtf were they thinking back then...
@Scott64593 жыл бұрын
What they were thinking was, "We have to make the cars comply with American mandated crash test requirements." Look at BMWs from the same era and you'll see the same bumper styling copied from Opel. I prefer the big bumpers.

Nice. Like the way whoever modified this lovely Manta incorporated the Opel logo center caps onto the aftermarket American Racing Libre wheels, nice touch. Hopefully the lucky new owner(s) realize what a special car they and have a treat it accordingly :-)

The 5mph bumpers were a personal favorite. Many Opel purists hate them, but I always thought they improved the lines of the Manta...although added alot of extra weight. I wish I could drive this car one more time. I hope it's being well-cared-for.
