This is the best video on electric fencing I’ve seen. He explains why things are done the way they are done.

Dont forget Timeless Fence System t-post that is uv protected from recycled pvc. It has holes evvery 3 inches for wiring. The post is the insulator! Has 20 year warranty and 40-50 year life!

Question. Why do you have to be 65' away from other ground systems?

Can you help me with my system. I have a solar system that is shocking the ground within 3 inches of my last ground rod. I'm running electric netting for goats.

If your coil is effective at slowing a lightning strike isn’t it going to affect the performance of your charger as well.

@@Ransetsu I found out you can angle your rods and an extra rod and it's good. Works great

@@DonovanAP I have tried that but they aren't in far enough. I'm going to run the extension cord out and hit them with the jack hammer

Where did you get that small surge protector the charger is plugged into? I can't seem to find one that small on Ebay or Amazon. Thanks.

Does the built in metal coil on the heavy duty appearing, single unit lightning arrestor one can buy, that you showed, work as well as your 1 foot coil of additional wire you installed near your homemade lightning arrestor? I would imagine it would not be as effective as the one you made out of the additional coiled black wire you showed in the video. Thanks. Great video.

If you have separate hot wires, a low and high one. Can you connect them at multiple points or is it better to connect one time near the charging station and then again after each gate? Thanks

Thank you for the information! My garden has a few trees that shade a good portion of the space. Though it is a south facing garden there is an early morning apple tree, a mid-day redwood tree and an afternoon mulberry tree. I wish I could take a daily by the hour reading of each square foot of growing space and build averages for each darn square foot! hahaha!!
