The CTA's MAN buses were also air conditioned. The a/c motor was in the rear part of the trailer. They were great buses to drive.

I drove the MAN articulated bus for the CTA out of North Park, Archer, 103rd St. Garages. Was a great bus to drive. Exhaust sound was cool, like it was on the 4000 series MAN 40 ft buses, the CTA started buying in 1984. Those buses were the best I drove in my time with the CTA..

This bus remains a mechanical trainer along with the prototype 6400. And is at the 89th street training center.

@garginshmunkle I agree but I only like the engine noise on the CTAs regional 7100s better than 7300s, but I love them both way better than crappy 7500s. I'm glad that 7500s are gone but kinda miss them alittle bit but hey. But I do agree that Seattles were seem more expensive than CTAs. But did 7300s had A/C when operated in Seattle?

I love the hybrid New Flyer accordion buses and the way it sounds while accelerating on Lake Shore Drive. Hopefully more of these buses will make up for the lost of the NABI buses.

You were on the 147 Outer Drive to Howard Red/Purple/Yellow Terminal ? Because all buses except for 151 Sheridan, runs express at Michigan/Deleware,145 Wilson/Michigan Express and 146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, all stop at Sheridan/Belmont,144 Marine/Michigan Express stops at Marine/Bittersweet ,and 147 Outer Drive only stops on Foster/Marine Drive.

hehe "favorite canadian buses" Well I'm sure you will like to know STO who operates in Gatineau across the river from Ottawa, Canada's capital, still has a bunch of them left. Also they got a big variety of different models of Classics. They got 6V71N, 6V92TA of course and S50 in their Classics. Though STO does plan on scrapping them in 2012 strangely enough.

I agree, I cannot stand those NABI 7500s, They are too jumpy and break down more often than TMC 4400s, They could last less than 7300s MANs. I mean I dont think NABIs are making it by 2011.

we have those on the street now and a hybrid version also. the hybrid looks just like that one with a bigger dome on top and rides with less noise. its a cool bus to ride.
