When you think about it he really could do it all. He fumed, he flirted, he was passionate and erotic, he smoldered, he ranted, he danced, he fought and kicked ass. He thought deeply, he commanded soldiers, he stood silently in the rain, he strode through a town, he wrestled, he spoke Spanish, he died like a dog and fought like a sombitch samurai ...No wonder we couldn't take our eyes off him....

Thanks for putting this together. Always been a fan of Mifune, but never realized the extensive catalog of work he put together. Great actor, great man.
If Hollywood got their hands on him, they would have probably type-casted him as a bungling and awkward nerd who was second fiddle to an actual dorky white guy…

I think it must have been the late 60's seeing the seven samurai for the first time, I was around 12 years old and I desperately wanted to be Kikuchiyo, I beat the tree in the garden with a stick until my hands were raw doing my very best imitation. Mifune was more than a great actor to me, he was and still is my hero.. Although I have many Mifune box sets and DVD;s, I never realised he was cast so many films, at least I now have a list to look out for and more adventures ahead. Thanks for posting...
Please could you list the soundtracks, there is one that I have been looking for and is in your video. It's the theme song for a movie called Battle for Okinawa

Great actor. Apart from his long career in Japan, and some movies in Hollywood, a movie to remark is Animas Trujano, shot in México, where he plays the role of a native from Oaxaca. To remark considering that he learnt the dialogues wthout knowing spanish. The movie was nominated to the Oscars.

Mifune mistrz
