I don't think mission mode needs a rebalance, but some characters certainly do. Vexen, Donald, Goofy, Demix and other characters have slow, weak and unpractical combos when compared to Sora, Säix, Roxas, Axel and others. For some reason some characters do less damage, even if you boost their strength stats.

@@aloha6221 Really? As far as I remember, all the enemies in Mission Mode are set up to be bullet sponges because it was designed to be played by 2-4 players. For now, what I do is use character codes to play as other characters in Story Mode (manually turning them on/off when needed to avoid crashing the game). imo the difference in damage dealt between hacked character Story Mode missions and their vanilla 1P Mission Mode counterparts is just baffling. You can see it without needing any hacks by playing as Roxas in mission mode. See how many hits it takes to down a single enemy in 1p mission mode and compare that to story mode. Its ridiculous!

@@aloha6221 ye, fighting the game's version of overpowered bosses at level 1 IS an achievement, but what I meant was since we've already got Melon Mix making the game playable on PC, I'm surprised we don't have some way to make singleplayer Mission Mode actually playable as soon as its literally available to the average player

some people like you or me are used to just equipping maximum level and ability panels in order to do Story Mode level 10 damage to enemies and we're used to preparing panels like that, but its not... good, despite how much I like it Its like when a horror game has intentionally bad tank controls Some people like the controls and get used to it, but the tank controls of "example horror game" still suck. They're often designed to be uncomfortable because it makes the player feel vulnerable without having to show the character itself acting scared or complaining in a cutscene or whatever. We fans like mission mode and we're used to it, but its not properly balanced for singleplayer. This is because mission mode was designed to be played with more than one player at a time. The point prizes even drop in singleplayer despite not having other players to compete with, or having any external use for the points like turning them into munny or exp or anything

Actually it is the sum of abilities of block-counter+perfect block. Normal block doesn't guarantee a quick response like a did in the video. And yeah level 1 in mission mode is possible. I'm having a lot of fun being the first person on KZbin to actually try such things haha

Actually... I improved my gameplay with her. Against normal enemies she definitely need her limit break. But I defeat Dustflier with her using only her knife throw attack with Critical Build. She definitely has damage potential.

Try using Extreme Ring or Critical Build

I'm waiting for it. Wish someone try to hack the game to get rid of friendly fire and make it work like a normal multiplayer.

@@aloha6221 Friendly fire is a toggle in the options menu in mission mode You can also do online splitscreen multiplayer if you have parsec as well!

He's pretty simple to beat, the only problem is the chip damage.

Yeah, enemies have pretty basic attack patterns. You see, these are pretty much giant versions of normal Heartless. And about Roxas' gameplay itself, I didn't had Extreme Ring to use his Limit Break cuz it would be useless. Dustflier only gets real damage through critical hits.

@@aloha6221 That's fair. If they were to remake it some things could definitely serve to be more in line with the main series. For me the big change would have to be redesigning the Org members so that there is more to what makes them unique. Different spells unique to them for starters, and for the campaign possibly having them have different weapons as days go on so it looks like they are progressing just as the player is (also game balance).

@@vadandrumist1670 I don't think that Org members need unique spells honestly. Larxene pretty much used Ice magic and Stopza in KH3. We need actually limits, combo modifiers, or something like KH Coded command deck (the only game that got it right). However, I pretty much prefer the mainline combat it's much more fun and has some depth in it.

@@vadandrumist1670 It's a problem that I need to use Extreme Ring and play at one HP to actually use a Limit Break, becuz Larxene by herself can't do actual damage. Lock limit break behind lowhp or getting damage feels off to me.

@@aloha6221 But you would have to agree that Larxene's bit with the ice was far more the exception than the rule. It makes sense that a character specializing in an element would use it with more versatility and potency than a generalist, and then there is Demyx who doesn't even have his spell as an option. I would think of it like BBS: despite being three playable keyblade wielders, it's what makes them different that is more interesting than what makes them the same. Even just three spells as a unique line for each would go a long way. As for links, that term has meant multiple things in the series so I would like you to clarify. If you're referring to KH3's "Summon Link" then I have recently come to the conclusion that those could be use as a way of allowing the player to use some of the bosses' more outlandish abilities that would be unreasonable for the player to consistently have, with the prime example being how Aqua could have a "Phantom Mode" which would give her the abilities she uses as a boss. The thing I'd want back most are limits and untiered spells, especially in Days where there are so many physical and unusual fighters.

Hahaha I'd definitely rather try dustflier at level 1 on mission mode than Ruler of the Sky. That fight would take forever to kill even with Extreme Ring.

Other than the Stalwart Blade, these mini bosses (and the super boss) are basically just reskinned versions of KH1 and KH2 enemies (and bosses), along with us getting the "Alice in Wonderland shrinking" treatment. Technically, I KNOW that (story - wise) this came first (before KH2), but since KH:CoM and KH2 were MADE first, KH: 358/2 Days looks like it's mostly copying off of them both (in this aspect).

It's possible to do it with Champion Gear or Phantom Gear. One of them have critical boost, it's the only way to damage him. On story mode you'll have an easier time. Square Enix lost a real opportunity by not remaking this game. Multiplayer pontetial, various characters to control, etc. I love mission mode, it feels so good to control Säix, Larxene, Marluxia and the other members.

Mission mode chip damage is awful sometimes. I tried this same mission with other characters like Larxene, Marluxia, Zexion and Mickey and none of them could do damage to Dustflier. DW Roxas air finisher is not even that good but work wonders against this boss. Try using Zero Gear + critical units against this boss on story mode and you will be fine. You can do good damage with this setup even on level 1.

It's not secret. You have to defeat him to progress in story mode.
